A hundred years ago, the U.S. had a nationwide network of short-line railroads that connected most urban and rural communities. By the 1940s, most of it had been dismantled ... by the barons of the auto and oil industries. πŸ˜‘

exactly. great wealth is usually, perhaps always, built on genocide, slavery, exploitation, and environmental destruction.

Paul Hetzler: Consider The Dandelion Dandelion is so well-respected that it garnered the Latin name Taraxicum officinale, which roughly means β€œthe official remedy for disorders.”

Cardinal Cupich: "We're dehumanizing the victims of war by turning the suffering of people & killing of children & our own soldiers into entertainment. To splice together movie cuts w/ actual bombings & targeting of people for purposes of entertainment is sickening. This is not who we are."

I'm deep down the rabbit hole on FROGFISH, 60 species of anglerfish in family Antennariidae.

They are deeply, utterly WEIRD & MARVELOUS.

Most walk on modified fins.
Others use jet propulsion.
Some are capable of air-breathing.
Some are "hairy", others blend perfectly in sargassum.

Meet the Tailorbird. They get their name from the way they construct their nestsβ€”the edges of a large leaf are pierced and sewn together with plant fibre or spider's web to make a cradle in which a grass nest is built. Nature is pretty damn awesome.
