My sister says that this drawing looks like a memorial for him :(
He definitely dies in my story though so I guess that's fitting

The same drawing in six different stages of completion. The first is a black and white sketch of a man with a low ponytail, a vertical scar on his left cheekbone, or the right side of his face from the viewer's perspective. He has a stubbly goatee and a cloak. The second image is of the same drawing with flat colors in different shades of grey, with the background changed to black. The third version adds shadows to the image. The forth version adds bright white highlights coming from the top left. In the fifth version, color is added. The man has red hair, gold eyes, tan skin and a brown cloak. The light is changed to a soft yellow. In the sixth and final version, finishing touches are added such as dust and a soft beam of light coming from the top left. Each image has a handwritten watermark that reads "CandyCove"

Anyway here's a small process of how this drawing of my OC went from sketch to color.
I don't always draw in greyscale but I really wanted to focus on values and practice drawing bright highlights
