Alienating plenty of us older American Jews too....

PS 166 on West 89th (UWS) is gorgeous.
I don't know if we're too far past the possibility of a 2SS. Watchingit slip away while repeating the mantra willing it into existence doesn't seem realistic either yet that's the line we are fed.
That's how I feel about my fellow supposedly liberal Jewish peers. If you are not taking some action to make a 2SS (or another option according rights and dignity to all) a reality, how much do you believe in it, when conditions are rapidly going in the other direction?
I thought the same thing!
WNYC had a piece this morning on this election. The story was that the GOP candidate sold himself as moderate who was willing to break with Trump, and that the party saw this as a test of this message. Glad to see how well it worked for them. π
Chutzpah captures it as well.
Our Reconstructionist synagogue doesn't differentiate between a Jewish mother or father. She's plenty Jewish for us. (She might not like other aspects of our congregation though.)
Exactly. I also don't want to hear about the mass protests, either against the judicial overhaul (and very much NOT against occupation) or for the hostages. There's simply no significant mass of people asking for a change in course re 2SS. Standing Together etc., is good but spitting in the wind.
Can we also dispense with the useless "Well if only Netanyahu were replaced..." formulation? The obstacles to meaningful progress go far beyond any one person.
My colleagues are big proponents, I am resisting as much as I can for most tasks.
As an American Jew, I find this tremendously creepy and frightening. But I guess I am supposed to feel more threatened by hearing "Free Palestine."
This conversation is happening in the legal world as well, including the discussion of how to edit the AI writing so it doesn't read like AI writing. (Or asking it to do that itself? Very meta...)
Every time I think it can't get worse, it gets worse.
Or self destruct?
Ha, true!
The legal world has adopted it extensively, big firms and small. I am generally a skeptic but have been happy to have it function as the junior associate/paralegal that we don't have in our small firm for certain tasks. We do NOT use it for legal research, other than Westlaw's product.
The refusal to prosecute the most horrible crime, caught on video, completely undermines Israel's argument that it can police itself. It leaves ICJ/ICC as the only viable options. Stupid, as well as morally repugnant.
This is both hilarious and pathetic. Talk about beta cuck vibes...
Just making themselves more irrelevant all the time.
This message has to be conveyed in these specific terms, so people see a reason it will benefit them to support building, even if their own housing situation is fine.
Makes sense that's the brand he thinks of, given the time warp in his so-called brain.
It's also destroyed their credibility in the eyes of older American Jews (speaking for myself) who are critical of Israel and support Palestinians having human rights. Those organizations do not speak for me.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful performance!
Listen to this, it may give you hope there's a better future possible.
Her podcast Ultra as well, seasons 1 and 2. Scary and shows how we got here.
Isn't that *not* operational excellence, though? A gargantuan mistake, suggesting our forces have indeed slipped in quality?
Mayor Mamdani and a child play with Legos while looking very serious and concentrated. The child is impossibly adorable and wearing tiny blue glasses.
No interruptions, please. Weβre building universal child care.
I performed CPR on the way to class in college, helping save the life of a Nobel laureate in physics. Then went to class as if nothing happened.
He was quoting Tom Friedman, essentially, yet they glazed right over that....
