This. Every time you see a "successful" trans person, know we are just one transphobe away from losing everything. This is one reason why it is important for allies to actually ally when we're not around -- transphobes should know their views aren't acceptable to anyone.

Fascinating, tragic, and gruesome story. Can't wait to read the chapter, Edd.
The true statement that “useful and true information is sometimes offensive and hard to hear” has been turned into a culture that values offensiveness for its own sake and assumes anything offensive is by virtue of that intellectually stimulating
What makes you say Sussex won based on that?
When the topic turns to "what comes next" and "what should we do," we should defer to historians in the same way we defer to doctors on vaccines, lawyers on criminal defense and military generals on strategy and tactics.
They're going to tell us stuff like this and it's vital to America's future.

I wouldn't underprice this possibility. Last year, the idea of Labour being banned from Pride seemed fanciful. Then everyone did it.
Barring Stonewall from Pride would be an unprecedented and defiant move and, I think, a welcome one.

Green Party MP, Hannah Spencer, holding a sign which says: I signed the letter... Not In Our Name: Women in support of the trans+ community NION logo NotInOurName.org.uk
A big thank you to Hannah Spencer MP for signing our letter and standing in clear support of the trans+ community.
Like Hannah, many women from across the political spectrum have joined the 101,000+ UK women who have already signed our letter - Women in support of the trans+ community.
What do you mean?
The EHRC thinks a big bill is going to stop us, because we’re not backed by billionaires or the government. But they’re wrong.
We always knew this would be a long and hard fight. We are going nowhere.

Joanne closed her helpline for single parents right around when she announced she'd be donating heavily to anti-trans causes. They closed because of lack of funding.
She's a billionaire.
She doesn't care about "single mums".

Or, you could donate to one of the many fabulous LGBT+ organizations that actually do give a damn about trans people. Off the top of my head:
@wearequeeraf.com
@networkgender.bsky.social
@assignedmedia.org
@transhistoryweek.com
@whatthetrans.com
@lgbtiqa.greenparty.org.uk
Just to name a few.
Less generously, Dugdale seems to have a knack for jumping on sinking ships.
Indeed it does. And the Greens apologized for the antisemitic posts. Vote your heart, but fwiw I know the Green Party as a whole has absolutely no truck for bigotry; the mistakes of a few local candidates don't obviate that.
This is the way.
If this Guardian interview with Dugdale is any indication, Stonewall is going to be about as successful as Scottish Labour has been.
For anyone who cares about LGBT+ rights: don't donate to Stonewall and don't volunteer or partner with Stonewall. They are useless.

Dr Fausto-Sterling, true to her name, did a sterling job rebutting the bigoted arguments against trans athletes made in this interview. Well done!
I love how spending years making a community with welcoming/affirming friends in Glasgow is cast 'indoctrination' and 'social contagion', but starting a detransition after watching TikTik videos isn't.
These people always tell on themselves.
Deepest condolences, Katelyn
A picture of Starmer and Mandelson with Starmer Must Go in the background with green party logo and imprint
Peter Mandelson failed his Government security vetting.
Starmer appointed him as ambassador to the US anyway.
No more buck passing, no more mysteriously vanishing mobile phones, we need the truth.
Starmer must go.
Wow. This looks fantastic! Some truly innovative historical research on America in WWII
Our colleague @davidedgerton.bsky.social's research quoted in an editorial in @theguardian.com yesterday www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
A major milestone. No GC/TERF/transphobe organization could hope to get this number of names on a petition.
Well done!
Believe me when I say: these letters matter! Sign one to your MP now to stop the dreadful EHRC Code of Practice

Well...
Far more likely or far less likely?
Not In Our Name's letter is at over 99,000 signatures; with less than 1000 signatures to go until 100,000!
Let's give them a good push over the 100k mark!

This is the energy progressives need to bring when they finally win office.
No figure, no court, no institution should be spared the long overdue dressing down it deserves for being complicit in authoritarianism.
The book cover for Belfastmen: An Intimate History of Life before Gay Liberation. It shows two men sat on a bench in the 1930s.
"Belfastmen: An Intimate History of Life before Gay Liberation" is published TODAY by @cornellupress.bsky.social! I tell the story of how queer men didn't just exist in Belfast but could be accepted by friends, family & colleagues... at least until a moral panic about homosexuality in the 1950s. 🧵
