Going down to the tracks to wait for a train to go through because it’s the only opportunity to see public art in rural usa.

I said it like a joke, but this is legitimately something I do now.

None of our stationary walls have any personality, but at least the moving ones do.

I got way too excited when “The Drama” credits came rolling in with a Moondog song.

And that was a movie with too many wildly different emotions than excitement, so that was a weird way to end for me.

Good to know!

You have gained so much of my trust that I am actively avoiding your videos because I want to hear every second of this thing for the first time in my home on the record player.

At least you are an artist who was kind enough to teach us about waiting before making us wait.

Ohh, wait, I have to use Reddit, don’t I?

Any farmers want to join a group text with me that I can send photos of old equipment to and you can tell me what it is?

I took just a little too long to become anti ai and now there is exactly one use that I cannot figure out a better way to do a genuinely useful thing:

The ability to take a picture of a random piece of farm equipment and say “what is this” was genuinely helpful.

One time I found myself serving tacos at an elementary school community event (wife taught there).

The very bad school board president stood beside me to also serve tacos.

“Thank you for helping, I’m the President of the School board.” He said.

“I’m aware.” I said coldly.

He said no more words.

I made a beeline straight to the end of it to contribute, that was a lazy one, but I’ve got Pollen-ty more!

There are lots of reasons that people living in cities have access to more culture and art, but one that is overlooked is that horror movies simply are not an option when you live in a small grove of trees surrounded by prairie and old farm houses.

Obviously not the time to undermine the Pope, but the fact that he is from the U.S. really feels like it takes some of the magic away, ya know?

And then you will help that toddler brush his teeth, you’ll change his diaper, and you’ll sing him a little James Taylor and cuddle him while he goes to sleep.

And then you will go to make yourself a replacement piece of delicious toast and remember that there are only heals left.

Parenting is cool, but every now and again your toddler will beg you for the delicious piece of toast you just made for yourself and then they will throw it on the ground in front of you.

To be clear though, the fact that every music movie makes me think of Inside Llewyn probably proves that it is actually a very good movie.

Inside Llewyn Davis is the worst movie because now every music movie feels unrealistic.

I just watched, and mostly liked, “Wild Rose” but felt like the ending was unsatisfying.

But before that I watched “Walk the Line.” And was like “yeah right, that’s unrealistic.”

I’ve used backmarket to get used tech and have had good experiences.

Not quite fb marketplace type prices, but pretty good ones often times.

I would love to!

I put real thought into making that happen every year around the 17th of May.

I’ve never been to Denton.

But I am also a very big fan of him as both a songwriter and human.

That’s so exciting! But also, yeah, I am hoping more and more people will come around to supporting artists directly so that it becomes easier for you and others to do.

I am so grateful for the work you put into your art! Can’t wait to hear it!

This is a post that is disrespectful to two significant and impactful games.

But I spent 14 hours boiling sap yesterday and thought this was really funny at 3:00am.

The board game Ticket to Ride, or as I like to call it- Settlers of Catan: Oops, all roads.

Project Hail Mary was the first space movie that made it feel like doing space stuff probably isn’t that much harder than the hardest tree removal jobs I’ve ever done.

Like it was straight up fantasy sci-fi type stuff.
Wing and integrations and sub types.

But if you found that something in it spoke to you, you could run with that for a long time.

What if this is related to that? What parts of me change when I am stressed? - good questions.

A hot take about the enneagram:

It was complicated enough that it had room for people to explore the parts of themselves that they needed to explore or come to terms with.

This made it a good tool for deepening a person’s understanding of themselves, but a bad tool for communicating with others.

Shoot, a monster cookie is a real great thing like once or twice a year, but the world is a much better place because Cookie Monster is in it.

And I would look insane yelling COOOO-KIIEEEE when the monster cookie came around if people didn’t believe I was referencing the Monster of Cookies himself.

I have my eyes on @fishboy.bsky.social for this experience.

I was crying the other day listening to Waitsgiving for the one millionth time. That album is so perfect and magical and powerful.

Next time one of my favorite artists releases an album, I am going to put effort into hearing it on vinyl before I hear it anywhere else.

I’ve found that this is a very special way for me to build a relationship with music from past decades, but I have never made it happen with a current favorite.

You have probably heard booky folks talk about the difference between book collecting and reading,

But my son would like to discuss the important distinction between snack collecting and eating and the high importance of both.

First sheep gave birth to twins today! Healthy mom and babies!

This is my first time being a caretaker for any kind of livestock and this is not an experience I ever thought I would have.

But it is beyond cool. And they are beyond adorable.

Very often the thing that is a better user experience gets ignored by general public because it is advertised as “green” or “ethical” before “better” or “more fun” even when that is true.

I’m going to stop talking about walkable cities and talk about cities with personality.
