They spent like ยฃ70k to pay for the Dundee conference and we spend hundreds of hours organising it, only for the decisions made to be ignored after the fact.

If there had been some kind of dialogue or explanation we coulda lived with that, but they just ghosted us while they ran out the clock.

That was what the conflict ended up being about in the moment, aye, but the tension was more about a disregard for member democracy and the autonomy of devolved nations, which they talked a big game about then entirely disregarded in favour of Anglocentric factional warfare

-and even share short-term policy goals with them, but I really don't see how they can be made into one party on a long-term basis without one tendency fully subordinated to the other.

-it has a larger contingent of socialist members than the SNP or whatever remains in Labour, but the underlying mission is one of improving the system as it is rather than fundamentally overturning it.

This means there is plenty of space for YP (or whatever follows) to collaborate with Greens-

On a personal level, my fundamental issues with the greens is that whatever the influences at work, it fundamentally isn't a socialist party.

It's definitely a much stronger brand of social-democrat than the other mainstream parties (I consider it a net positive that we can now call it such!) and-

POV: you remember that you were genuinely optimistic about Your Party Scotland just months ago

"internal struggles" is putting it mildly lol, and neither early days nor corporate media have been much of a barrier at all. YP is in the state it's in because of unforced errors and bad action at the very top far more than anything else

Speaking as someone who's spent the better part of a year trying to build YP from the ground up, I can assure you that YP has no interest in trying to build from the ground up lol

Fellow YPer here, albeit increasingly reluctantly - please chill out

It could be great if it worked, but demanding control over energy has no more weight than the decade the snp has spent demanding another referendum.

If you have no viable plan to achieve the good outcome you're demanding, is it a good policy or just more electioneering?

Where?

3 weeks ago 2 0 1 0

Tbf it's substantially less crazy than the timeline they were trying to pull with Scotland - if they hadn't completely neglected to even discuss it at yesterday's meeting, the nomination process would've been starting now with a candidate deadline of next Wednesday lol

My understanding is that nominations opened on the 17th with candidates to somehow be in place by April 9th ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

It is being reported on the ground in Cuba that everyone on a ventilator at this hospital died overnight.

As a Cuban, I'm devastated.

"why do these people have such a problem with us" I wonder, as I drop a bunker buster on the last remaining puppy orphanage before screaming back to my stolen home for a peaceful night of sexually assaulting political prisoners and stealing their skin

You've been criticising and picketing internally while still paying dues and advocating publicly for the party - that's absolutely what a loyalist does chief

1 month ago 5 0 1 0

I've been seeing you doing Labour apologetics for at least a decade as the party has drifted further and further from everything you profess to believe.

We can only conclude that either you're lying about all your beliefs for no discernable reason, or you're *really* fuckin loyal to the party.

Labour loyalists making this kind of comment the day after the mandelson files came out is tremendous stuff

It's said that Trump is the perfect president because he represents the basest form of the American subjectivity.

On that basis alone, make her the queen.

@thenewsatglenn.bsky.social just called Bluesky the Your Party of social media, and as a bluesky user and member of YP Scotland's interim executive committee I'd like to respond on behalf of both as follows:

Yeah, pretty much, but just one more bloody internecine conflict and then they'll get good!

This is endstage gentrification shit, like they're not even turning it into anything more "upmarket", it's purely functioning as social cleansing to pursue lowest-common-denominator swill

Bought out by a bizarre network of shell companies all owned by one guy so that they can gut it into more yank slop (same cunts dod the same with Globe mere weeks ago)

I never much cared for either, genuinely shocked at how viscerally angry this has made me.

Edward David Fox is a fucking villain
