my kid repeat the silly quote "my generation is so cooked because of AI", so i got two rand images from the interent, and asked him, how much fat that guy got between the two photos that are 1year apart, he said "these are two different guys", then i took him to ask Grok about the same two photos! 😄

Drain (Data structure, Buffer, Queue,...)
- Flushes (Queues, Commadns, Async Loads,..)
- Pools (Command Pools, Memory Pools, Object Pools,..)

i believe there were few more, but these are the universal ones 😄

Graphics & Engine programming (well, programming in general) is pretty much plumbing work in its essence. Don't belive me, here is the proof:
- Pipelines (Graphics Pipe, Pipeline States, Top of Pipe, Bottom of Pipe)
- Sinks (Commands & Console sinks)
- Leaks (Memory Leaks)
- 🧵🧵🧵🧵

Just got back from Revision demoparty—my 64KB intro took 1st place. Huge thanks to @alkama.bsky.social for the audio work that made this possible. It’s a fully procedural 3:40 animation packed into a 58KB executable. I had a blast building it, and the audience reaction was incredible.

listening to reviews of PRAGMATA after the embargo today, makes me more excited about the game! Worst complain so far, was that the game is SHORT, but personally don't care if it is 10, 8 or 7h, as long as it is entertaining!
don't forget, if you like the visuals of the game, u can sneak peak below!

covert these to R32G32_FLOAT (right image) for visualization purposes only, so it can be clear that we're looking (at this example) at a Visibility Buffer not a micropolygons visualization.

for a long time seeing this image (left) was fine, you know it is positions but in a format like R32G32_UINT, but in the past few years & the rise of mesh shaders, nanite, micropolygons, this type of view would get confused right away as a nanite type of thing 😁 hence i decided to go ahead and..

today i was explaining to a friend (not a programmer) the concept of FIFO and LIFO. i told him something they'll never forget:
"FIFO is like when you poop, but LIFO is like when you vomit"

Only UI section left..well,..“late” UI to be specific!
SPOILER, this game im investigating does nearly 1/2 of the UI work ahead of time at the very beginning of the frame, before any shading or lighting!! As soon as all compute work kicked, UI start doing 1/2 the work, then gbuffer & shading starts!
