My question to all the people telling you about ASCAP/BMI is, do they control the licensing of *every* song? Do they have the rights to license every independently released song, even from that one local band you followed in college that released just one CD? Surely not, right?
I am!
I’ll see you in Hell, Michigan.
Graphic for the results of my attempt to solve Clues By Sam’s puzzle for April 16. It shows that I made one incorrect guess. It also says I finished in under 11 minutes, but that’s inaccurate because it doesn’t log the time I was marking up a screenshot to figure out the puzzle.
Dammit, so close.
Obscure Irish indie musician here, making danceable rock somewhere between NIN, LCD Soundsystem and Primal Scream with a gothic Brian Jonestown Massacre edge.

Ok, LCDSS got my attention; BJM sealed the deal.
The good news is that I’m *not* filing an extension this year.
The bad news is I had to pay a big tax bill this year.
Normal procrastinators think that today, April 15, is the deadline for filing taxes.
We pros know that the deadline is actually October 15.
I think Gen X’s parents were under informed about the dangers kids could face and today’s parents are over-informed. Or that we’re more accurately informed.
So we’re now doing to ourselves what Iran was doing to us in retaliation for the war, in retaliation to Iran for not agreeing to our demands. Do I have that right?

So where’s the picture of your rig? C’mon! 😁
Got any performances planned for early June? I’m going to be up that way.
I’m sorry for not doing my part. I have several DIY module builds in my backlog and I’ll post pics as soon as I get moving on that.
I think that the monarchs that arrive in Mexico are descendants of those that start the migration, which is amazing in a different way.
A maroon bicycle is parked on grass next to a worn green picnic table along a paved path. There’s a grassy meadow and trees beyond the path. The sky is clear and blue with fluffy clouds. An ominous dark shape is just entering the top of the frame of view. Or maybe that’s just my thumb.
It’s Wednesday and I’ve already entered unpaid overtime finishing my big project for the week so I’ve taken a midday bike ride in the park and will probably go hang out in a cafe or something later.
Congratulations on your award.
Good luck getting it.
That does seem like the sort of thing an internal LLM should be able to help with. Not that it will.
“But on the other hand, at least I’m free to use the R-slur now.”
If you’re in Ann Arbor right now it’s a great time to get your grocery shopping done.
And you can make digital copies and load them on your phone or tablet so you have them with you wherever you go.
Came here to say the same thing. IDK but if it’s snow they miss maybe they should take global warming more seriously.
I've seen people trying to defend it today by saying "No, no, I just use it to brainstorm, bounce ideas, I do the actual writing" and with all the kindness in the world I need to tell you: if there is a stage of writing you are not good at, you need to get good, not use the plagiarism machine.

They must be really worried that Texas will go blue in the next election
But do ya? Do ya really feel normal with two liters of water sloshing around in your belly?
For the love of almighty god, people. If you see a meme that confirms your priors but gives no link to a source so that you can verify the claim, be **very** skeptical.
And freely block those accounts if the story can’t be substantiated.
I’ve always used my middle name instead of my first but in middle school there were a couple teachers who insisted — until my parents wrote them a letter—on calling on me by my first. One of them said it was because that’s how I’d have to sign checks.
(Spoilers: I sign checks R. Scott)
Yes, this is why every home has its own generator and we’ve never developed a national power grid.
A single power plant, regularly maintained and running at constant load, is going to be more efficient and cleaner than a fleet of vehicles at various levels of maintenance that are regularly accelerating and decelerating.
Thanks to Trump I now know that Force Majeure isn’t just the name of a Tangerine Dream album
