The UN says more than 10,000 ceasefire violations have been recorded since the Israel–Lebanon “truce” began in November 2024, with almost all of them attributed to Israel. The violations occur roughly every 53 minutes and have killed at least 127 civilians, according to the UN. Asked by Sky News why Israel was violating the deal, Israel’s UN ambassador Danny Danon accused Hezbollah of rebuilding military infrastructure, restocking bunkers, and smuggling weapons and cash into Lebanon. He provided no public evidence to support the claims. UNIFIL, which operates around the clock in southern Lebanon, says it has found no evidence of Hezbollah regrouping. The force has reported locating old, abandoned weapons caches and unexploded ordnance, but says these date to earlier periods and do not indicate new activity.
