Another thing. Actually went to freeze frame for this. Not only does he loosen his grip on thrust he's also going through about a 1/8 rotation on thrust. That's not something you want to do with a big fat front-heavy sword like the dao.

Furthermore his whole "stick arm all the way forward, pull back on thrust" thing stinks of "learned kata in a mall" because any HMA fencer is going to smack that hand with their sword so fast.

Also, while you certainly *can* thrust with a dao, it's a chopping / slashing weapon first. Why is he even showing off this dubious thrust with this specific sword. Does he not have a jian lying around?

What's going on with dumbass's grip there. He seems to be letting the dao slide forward in his hand on the thrust. This is a good way to watch your dao fall on the ground from literally any parry.

Turns out AI is getting way too expensive. We just canceled 5 of our AI subscriptions and hired

Indeed. It's a model that weakens the art itself as well, progressively.

Also they struggle structurally from being all middle with no real conclusion.

AI header, pro-genocide takes, jumps into other peoples mentions to complain they're saying things you don't like.

Don't look now: the Nazi here is you.

So many dropped threads. Like what the hell did the frozen custard guy have to do with literally anything? Why was he in this?

So much camera work aping Sam Raimi in a horror story set in a cabin in the woods and yet just so fucking inept.

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

Also having the Witness creepily smirking over a pair of gay couples both of whom die in the finale smacked of a very regressive sense of what "soul mate" means and I don't know whether that was deliberate reactionary theming or just incompetence.

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

And then the whole thing about who dies at the end. Like, sure, Jules and Nell was kind of actually set up at least somewhat. Even if it suffered in the edit. But why the hell did Boris live when Victoria got got?

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

They cathartically concluded the Return of the Repressed in Episode 5 and then just hung around aura farming until the big finale. And the whole time they made the wretched gothic family into a bunch of uwusmolbeans who attend therapy.

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

And killing off their whole family because one brother was a fuckboi seems... like aping the form of the Gothic without really understanding the function of it.

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

But the problem is that the show stumbled over itself to make the Cunninghams NOT an offputting gothic staple of the decrepit rural aristocrat for the back half of the series.

I think what bothers me about "Something Very Bad is Going to Happen" is that it wanted to have its cake and eat it too. If you cut the last five minutes of episode 4 and all of episodes 5-7 and replaced them with something entirely different then you MIGHT have sold the end "twist" (such as it was)

If you're ever so high you start arguing with the dictionary....

Blaze another so you are too high to type.

In a true pothead move I thought yesterday was 4/20. I did, in fact, blaze it. Ah well. I guess I'll have to do it again today.
