Posts by Naseem "THE GLADE" Jamnia (they/them) SUPPORT S&K 10 YEAR ANTHO!
We've spent the last YEAR on this project, and I've spent the last six months leveling up my book layout game to create this. We are SO PROUD, so excited that we can announce this transition into being a worker-owned coop, and so thrilled for our future!
And just LOOK at that incredible cover!!
Basically, for $10, everyone can get the digital collection of TEN YEARS OF SWORD & KETTLE PRESS; for $30, U.S. residents can get the ebook AND a softcover version.
Which is to say....if you missed your earlier chance to read LET ME TELL YOU OF THAT GARDEN, well, now you have another chance!
What is this I see here?
A Kickstarter that includes ME and several other amazing folks?

IT'S LIVE!!!
Support a tiny queer worker-owned cooperative press by backing our ten-year anniversary anthology of queer and intersectional speculative literature!! it features over 200 pages of poetry and prose, a cover we are OBSESSED with, and editor introductions to each piece!
Please share!!
Remember this from last week?
South Carolina's Freedom to Read Group has an outstanding response worth replicating.
Libraries don't have to buy these books. They can actively push back against publishers who are not helping libraries–bedrocks of their survival!–weather censorship.
huge congrats!!!!!
I took this class last (?) year and LOVED it. Highly recommend!!
Honestly, I wish I'd written this book. My own revision method is incredibly similar to what's written. And it's such a slim volume!! Eighth printing is very well deserved!!
Me giving public comment defending the right to read and public libraries: HERE IS A VERY COGENT ARGUMENT WITH DATA THAT I WROTE IN TEN MINUTES WHILE SITTING HERE.
Me writing a question for the @worldsbeyondnumber.bsky.social fireside: I QUESTION HAS REWRITE TEN TIMES PLZ SENPAI NOTICE ME 👉👈
Warning: the Federal Book Ban Bill may cause sudden disappearance of good books and increased eye rolling.
Help stop it.

A core principle of democracy, freedom, and liberty is that the government does not choose what people get to read and who they get to be. This country has a long history of protecting our freedoms. H.R. 7661 goes against this. Together, we say that this bill goes against the U.S. Constitution, local self-determination, access to books, and a society that is welcoming for everyone, no matter who they are. Our schools deserve better than this. Our children and teens — all of them, without exception — deserve better than this. We urge the U.S. House of Representatives to vote NO on H.R. 7661 or, better yet, to not take it up for a vote at all.
A Statement In Opposition to HR 7661 The freedom to speak and to read is a fundamental principle of the United States of America. That is why we have joined together — parents, students, educators, library workers, authors, free expression advocates, booksellers, and publishers — to stand in support of our nation’s school-aged children and teens and in opposition to H.R. 7661. H.R. 7661, if passed, will compel nationwide book censorship. It confuses obscenity with identity and stigmatizes vulnerable young people, particularly trans children and teens, based on who they are. It will continue to drain funding from our already underfunded schools and libraries. And it will threaten the creativity and critical thinking that are vital to education in the U.S.
Authors Against Book Bans has joined dozens of other organizations, nonprofits, publishers, & stores to issue this joint statement opposing HR7661
FYI you can buy ebooks through Bookshop.org to support local independent bookstores and you can get audiobooks on Libro.fm!
HELLO WE ARE LAUNCHING THE ANTHO KICKSTARTER IN ONE WEEK AND WOULD LOVE YOUR SUPPORT TY TY
I was so surprised and honored to see "The Blaze of Abadan," my near-future "nuclear for the rich, oil for the poor" retelling of the tragedy of Cinema Rex starring a trans woman oil bandit in @commapress.bsky.social's Iran+100 anthology, made the shortlist for ECO25!! Congrats to us all!
AGREED!!! I learned to write via fanfic, and I love how many people recognize what a valuable space it is (hope the attention doesn't ruin it). Your love of fanfic came through strongly!! It was def a clear critique on publisher money-grabs (and Queen TERF), not on fanfic itself. (also thank you!!)
Okay to end I'm gonna cheat & rec sci-fi because not enough people talk about @micaiahjohnson.bsky.social! Those Beyond the Wall was INCREDIBLE (companion/sequel to The Space Between Worlds) centers The Other on multiple levels. Incredibly thoughtful look at communities & violence & identity.
Vaishnavi Patel has two excellent historical fantasy retellings of the Mahabharata, but while not fantasy, Ten Incarnations of Rebellion (alt history of British in India) is her finest.
Terry J. Benton writes queer & Black fantasy, & his adult debut romantasy comes out in Nov.
I LOVE Sangu Mandanna—amazing disability rep & quite queernorm. A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping (contemporary fantasy) made me cry with its autistic rep. I just finished Vanya and the Wild Hunt (MG fantasy) which should be THEE magical school book.
Someone else brought up NKJ, who's the GOAT.
@charliejane.bsky.social's LESSONS IN MAGIC AND DISASTER is an in-group conversation for queers about our relationships with community, toxic tendencies in those relationships, and a love letter to academics who just can't let ideas go. Its use of magic as a form of connection enhances its themes.
I was MADE FOR THIS QUESTION!!!
@vajra.me's SAINT OF BRIGHT DOORS is a brilliant deconstruction of Chosen Ones and trauma imparted to us by our parents.
Someone else mentioned @marthawells.com but let me tell you, the Rising World (two books out) is some of the best epic fantasy I've ever read.
Definitely want to second TSaDB—it was excellent! Haven't read the sequel but am excited to!
that publishers are spending a wild amount of money for, well. It's a problem, and a big one. And I love how SE's piece today explore those issues!
*I am actually a firm believer that fanfiction is the place where people can explore all types of shit, even that which we would deem problematic, because it's fanfiction. It's a place to explore exactly those issues. But when those issues are then uncritically reproduced in pull to publish fanfics
