I confirmed that as a government we remain firmly committed to honouring each and every one of the commitments we made in our manifesto 👇🏻
Our Renters’ Rights Act will see Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions abolished on 1 May in 37 days’ time.
It would be utterly shameful for any landlord to attempt to use it to evict tenants en masse before that date.

All of this is on top of the fact that Great British Rail has already frozen rail fares and is investing in new rolling stock.
The Saturday services from Victoria to Orpington via Herne Hill will see an increase in service frequency to four trains per hour at a 15-minute interval all day.
The Sidcup line stations will see an increase in service frequency off-peak on weekdays and all day on Saturdays to six trains per hour.
On Sundays, the Victoria to Dartford via Bexleyheath services will be extended to Gravesend, calling at Greenhithe.
Sunday services to Cannon Street on the Bexleyheath line will be diverted to Charing Cross all day. Diverting the Charing Cross services to Cannon Street never made sense for local passengers, especially those travelling off-peak.
The Charing Cross to Dartford via Bexleyheath service will be restored to two trains per hour, off-peak on weekdays and all day on Saturdays. This means the Bexleyheath line will go back to six trains per hour across Cannon Street, Victoria and Charing Cross services.
I welcome the changes to our local train services that are being made by our newly nationalised company, Great British Railways - owned by the people and run for the people. These changes, which will come online in December, are as follows:
NEW: Many people have been trying to talk London down, but the evidence tells a very different story.
Last year saw:
The lowest homicide rate since records began
The fewest homicides of those aged under 25 this century
Children growing up in our country deserve the best start in life – nothing less.
Today’s Budget means we will deliver the largest reduction in child poverty in a single Parliament.
An active government making a difference for working people
This is your vote, your choice. You the members choose your Deputy Leader.
Having this conversation is not dissent, but an important conversation about how we can be better.
I will be your strong independent voice.
Labour is at its best when we are clear about whose side we are on, and in whose interests we serve, when our values shine through.
I want us to be clear that our objective is to lift children out of poverty and that will mean we need to lift the 2 child benefit cap www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Speaking to Nick Robinson for Political Thinking on why I’m standing to be a full time Deputy Leader - being clear about whose side we are on, being a bridge between the movement & leadership, lifting the two child limit, the atrocities in Gaza and telling a unifying story 👇
Good luck to all those students who are collecting their GCSE results today. All the best for the future.
