Me but hockey for real

Ah! Hell yeah - gotta check out Godzilla Skate or Die while you’re at it, a favorite from last year. By another Aussie - Louie Joyce!
- "Starship Godzilla" has been really fun!
= I also really liked "The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery #1 " - fun Indiana Jones style adventure
- And then - manga, scifi, really nice looking - "The Color of the End: Mission in the Apocalypse" (they're up to 3 volumes now I believe)
Would
Alright, that’s it, I’m taking on a pseudonym and writing romance novels instead. This real life bullshit has gone far enough.
The internet is ephemeral, so collecting things like this is super cool. Order before April 30th!
SKTCHD BOOK 2025 is here! It might be my favorite yet, as my wife Amber nailed the cover, Kieron's foreword is lovely, and it includes pieces like:
- The story behind BONE's time in Disney Adventures!
- A big interview with Grant Morrison!
- A look at the comic strip boom!
- More!
Order it today!
In the second volume, they also started printing interviews with Japanese skateboarders, which made it feel like a fan zine (positive).
Finished reading Sketchy by Makihirochi last month and am still thinking about how cool this manga was. Japanese female skateboarding drama about burning out, in your work and relationships, and then finding skateboarding later in life.
Heated Rivalry got my wife into hockey and now we watch it 3-4 times a week. It’s super weird to think that in November I didn’t really know anything about hockey and now I care about standings and shit.
I’m having a great time, but it was not on my 2026 bingo card.

Seems possible with scripting in Illustrator and maybe Javascript or XML transformations. Little out of my wheelhouse, but I'm willing to give it the good old professional development shot if you want to send me what you would normally do step by step in Illustrator?
github.com/howdy-michae... - Caveat: I am not a python developer, I just mess around with it a lot :) . This is a lightweight script, nothing crazy going on - takes a PDF and outputs a cleaned .txt file that removes tabs and weird spacing left behind by script software. Hope it can help somebody.
buddy @matthewbogart.bsky.social had a blog on this: www.matthewbogart.net/2026/02/09/a... -- But I'm curious if there's a lightweight way to do it in Python or something as well. hmmmmmm. (PS - I am definitely guilt of doing this to letterers and am sorry haha)
Have a writing draft due in two weeks, so you know what that means? Time to start that noise project I've been teasing for years.
So sick!
I think I'm done reading ensemble cast-style comics for a bit (your team ups and your big ol' event with the fellas stories). Bit burnt out on the slow progress big guy wars of it all. Give me that street-level, walk-and-talk kind of story again.

Found a solve for my mini obsession with wanting to always be building gunpla (but not actually starting): Armored Core 6.
Time to lock in
"FUGUE" by Raccoon City. Definitely my Screamo album of the year, but also my most listened overall. Sometimes I'll run it back a couple times in one sitting.

"Wocket Launcher Presents.. Wocket Launcher: The Compilation, A Compilation by Wocket Launcher" by Wocket Launcher. Look... I worked at Hot Topic in the 2010s. It's just what you do. There's a couple skips on here honestly, but I tolerate them for vibes.
wocketlauncher.bandcamp.com/album/wocket...
"In the Earth Again" by Chat Pile & Hayden Pedigo is an album that I will definitely come back to again and again. There's a lot of depth in every song. More than anything I think this album takes it's time. A wonderful collab.
chatpile.bandcamp.com/album/in-the...
"The Spiritual Sound" by Agriculture. I'll buy anything from Agriculture. It's always a treat. Heartfelt dissonance is the driver here, crushing in a lot more than just the loud and sad way.
agriculturemusic.bandcamp.com/album/the-sp...
"Ash Souvenir" by Ragana & Drowse. I feel like this one is off a lot of lists because it's a fairly short EP. But it's damn good. The collab is not to be missed.
ragana.bandcamp.com/album/ash-so...
"Megamantra" by Black Magnet rips! It's heavy guitar-industrial in the best way. Just brutal stuff. For fans of mid-career Ministry, Uniform, and any crushingly loud industrial album. Lots of bangers on this one.
blckmgnt.bandcamp.com/album/megama...
"Who Let The Dogs Out" by @lambrinigirls.bsky.social Lambrini Girls is just good punk. Raw, mean (positive), and so real. I love this album.

"hexed!" by Aya is a wild harsh electronic album with a hell of a lot of depth. For fans of PAN label artists, Eartheater, and maybe some Pharmakon.

Checking out a couple year end lists for music -- here are some choice picks IMO (thread)
Wait, they go 7-11 Gunpla? Alright, it was kind of joke before but now....
Oh yeah definitely, I think a full-read will help with some of the little touches.
I missed "Demon Summoner Gash Gash", looks wild! haha
