I have put together a small email template for anyone who wants to remind Stonewall that trans people have always been in the fight for the rights of LGBTQ+ people, and always will.

🇪🇺🏳️🌈⚖️🇭🇺 A legal earthquake - CJEU finds Hungary to have violated EU law on multiple counts with its anti-LGBT+ legislation (as expected) but also for the first time in history, in an EU law-reshaping precedent, finds Hungary to violate Art 2 TEU in a self-standing manner.
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

I try to polish my language on it because I don't want to seem like I'm being hysterical. But a lot of people have yet to grapple with the reality that our policing apparatus as a whole is both fully militarized and increasingly willing to publicly declare itself an arm of the Republican party

On California farms, workers say threats to deport them are on the rise.
They described instances in which bosses threatened to call ICE on them, sometimes because they complained about workplace violations.

This is out now. About collecting hobbies, never “finishing” anything, disability & AuDHD.
We can’t control what society does to us, we can’t control what disability does to us: but we can control the stories we tell to ourselves about ourselves 💚
to be clear, this is the fault of everyone who didn't vote democrat. if the democrats had had one more vote, the resolution could have failed with two of them crossing the aisle
With a final tally of 213-214, the war powers resolution to disengage US forces from the war on Iran failed by a single vote.
Representative Jared Golden of Maine was the sole Democratic lawmaker to vote against the measure. Had he voted for it, it would have passed, handing Trump an historic loss.
Transgender discrimination is, by its very nature, sex discrimination. Discrimination based on sex is expressly prohibited under Montana’s unique Nondiscrimination Clause––“[n]either the state nor any person, firm, corporation, or institution shall discriminate on account of . . . sex . . . .” Thus, Article II, Section 4 is unequivocal in its intolerance for discrimination based on sex. Because sex discrimination involves a fundamental right under Article II, the appropriate level of judicial review is strict scrutiny. Snetsinger, ¶ 17. ¶28 Being transgender is also a suspect class under the Equal Protection Clause of Article II, Section 4,––“[n]o person shall be denied equal protection of the law.”
MONTANA SUPREME COURT: “Transgender discrimination is, by its very nature, sex discrimination,” and is subject to strict scrutiny under the Montana Constitution.
It's interesting how Klein assumes, apparently at such a deep level he doesn't notice it, that "believe in the possibility of change" inherently means change for the better, and that broadcasting these views to tons of people couldn't possibly change anyone, including Klein, for the worse.
They're already doing this now though.
Indeed. If there's any messaging lesson you can take from the Magyar campaign (and I'd have lots of caveats there), it seems like a strong anti-corruption message is what builds a broad coalition -- not social conservatism.

New: Why Was the Prairieland Jury Persuaded to Convict Given the Government’s Weak Case?
Questions linger about a “loud uproar” in the jury room on the day of the verdict as juror misconduct is alleged in a post-verdict motion seeking a new trial.

my grand theory of vibecession is that multiple contradictory things can be true at once, and that this kind of complexity is more or less impossible to constructively discuss on a social media platform with character limits and severe context collapse problems.

It's crazy how exasperating even his mannerisms are. Just letting it play on mute, you can tell he's on some bullshit where he thinks he's delivering a profound, unspoken truth. (And replaying it again...yep! Fuck off, Bill Maher.)

Right-wing media groups like Turning Point USA and Daystar are reaching incarcerated people in Texas prisons every day. Why aren't the Democrats fighting back?

It's clear that some expected it just to be a big version of 2021, the problem of course is that the preexisting trend of public opinion turning against Israel was already evident in 2021, and 2023-2026 has not been a mere expansion upon that but an accelerant and a paradigmatic shift.
What's ironic there is that the group that Stancil alludes to specifically tries to make that very distinction you're highlighting as a problem. That makes the claim that implied group erases that distinction by...making that distinction in the first place...not only contradictory, but very weird.
The reason that this is the real problem btw is that this group you say is "inexplicably" obsessed will actually only grow so long as the party establishment continues to actually inexplicably refuse to move an inch on this issue where the base is like 75-85% to the left of leadership.
Accountability journalism can't happen without legal support. That's why @rcfp.org created the Local Legal Initiative — placing press attorneys across the country to serve local newsrooms for free. In PA, the LLI has made strides in protecting reporters and pushing for government transparency 🔎⚖️
ICE has been really good at catching wind of these unannounced visits in other cities recently and flying all the captured migrants out beforehand.
But not today. Well done catching them, Congresswoman. We should expect that all of the detention centers are this bad when they aren’t tipped off.
It’s amazing how much milque they can pack into these toasts.
