Competition for a scarce resource.
Jackdaws tentatively explore the potential of this nesting hole in an old hedgerow Oak.
I have known Tawny, Barn & Little Owls to nest or roost in this tree & such wonderful nesting holes are hard to find.
They are very cautious as to who they might encounter.
