Nice read!
Essayist was mentioned in Apple’s Newsroom article about Foundation Models for its ability to create references from PDFs, alongside so many fantastic apps.
We’re very happy with this feature, which serves as a foundation for much more to come.

This is happening to Danny’s app ever since Monday. The icon is gone
Filed feedback: FB20267838
Contacted DTS, they said to wait for feedback
Has this happened to anyone?? How is this possible?
Our summer grind gave us a nice surprise today: App of the Day 🤩 The app looks amazing in iOS 26, try it on your iPad blog.penbook.app/p/penbook-is...
Congrats Shawn! What a milestone
In a Foundation Models prompt such language would definitely cause a guardrail violation
Essayist + Spotlight in macOS 26:
Copy a paper ID, pull up Spotlight, and add it straight to Essayist’s reference manager + your essay — no app switching needed.

Screenshot of Finalist 3 running on iPhone
Finalist 3 is out after nine months of coding 😅 It's a daily planner that manages your calendars and reminders better than your Reminders app. I'm running a crazy launch special: get a lifetime license for $5 (five!) dollars
Likewise Chris!
Thank you Apple for a fantastic WWDC! And thank you so much for showcasing Essayist in a STATE OF THE UNION slide!! 🤯🤯🤯
It was an incredible experience and so inspiring! We made new friends and met old ones, got to exchange insights, brainstorm new features and the vegan food options were on point!
I’ll find you! Will also be going to Core Coffee. A bit later though.
You going?
Congratulations to all the Apple Design Award winners and finalists! So inspiring!
Special shoutout to @timd-ca.bsky.social and CellWalk! 🥳

Finally! This took a bit longer than expected, but we’re really happy with the result.
Thanks to @essayist.app new Title Page Editor, we will officially support APA Professional, complete with Author Note.
We’re also expanding support for Chicago and Turabian styles — both will support notes and author-date formats.
All part of our next update, launching April 30th, 2025.
@essayist.app is about to get more flexible!
You’ll soon be able to customize title pages, headers & footers, and manage sections with ease — giving you more control over your documents than ever before. And there’s more.
We’re on track for an April 30th release.
Thrilled to spot Essayist’s app icon in the iPhone 16e announcement yesterday! Big thanks to Apple 🙏
We are fully focused on a significant update and look forward to sharing more details soon.
Is there any way to replicate the built-in Drag-and-Drop behaviour of List, where I can tap on items to add them to the current Drag after a drag has started (iOS, #SwiftUI)?
Related to this: is there any way to get notified about a drag being started?
Very appealing

LOVE this.
