I keep hearing that AI could eventually make assistive tech like screen readers obsolete. For example, the AI could generate an audio interface on the fly. I have my own thoughts on this, but I’d like to hear yours. Is there a nugget of truth to this? Risks? Is it a viable future?

This has been a long time coming - but I'm glad to report that the vast majority of WCAG's Reflow Understanding document has been rewritten.
Lots of work and discussions in our attempt to make what Reflow actually requires more... well... understandable.

Honestly, 1mil isn’t a whole lot here. That alone would just be a slap on the wrist. The more important aspects of this have to do with the FTC explicitly barring them from misrepresenting their product and its capabilities.

Anyone know of a good accessible “see more” implementation? You know, the kind that truncates content. Click it and it expands all of the content and the button either disappears or turns into “see less” now positioned at the end. So far, I’m convinced this is an anti-pattern.
Customers don’t want your product to be WCAG conformant. They want the damn thing to be usable! They want to have an efficient and effective experience. We put too much focus on minimal compliance for #a11y.
