The Book News Isn't All Bad - Reactor Some bookish headlines can be dire — but it’s important to note the good stuff, too.

This is your reminder to schedule your colonoscopy if you are 45 or older. If you're high risk, earlier! My mom died of colon cancer in February, and it was terrible. She didn't go in for a colonoscopy ever, and it would have been caught a lot earlier if she had.

ah moving house brain... what is the combo to that safe? What might be in it? Where is the backup key? Some place safe...

Meanwhile, the lizards don't care.

Merch from John M Davis Merch from John M Davis

Youse guys, I’ve moved beyond music making to become a merch monger! If you like my album covers enough to wear them on your thorax, you’ve come to the right place!

Plus we’ll have some items showcasing my acerbic wit.

Ok, back to my weird, moody, bullshit, peace!

Text of the poem, "We Lived Happily During the War" by Ilya Kaminsky.
And when they bombed other people’s houses, we

protested
but not enough, we opposed them but not

enough. I was
in my bed, around my bed America

was falling: invisible house by invisible house by invisible house.

I took a chair outside and watched the sun.

In the sixth month
of a disastrous reign in the house of money

in the street of money in the city of money in the country of money,
our great country of money, we (forgive us)

lived happily during the war.

So often lately, too often, I'm reminded of this poem by Ilya Kaminsky:

Kat actually must have the right amount of coffee, and a keen eye, and experience to help make your novel or novella better.

The Fisher King, by John M Davis 7 track album

Now that Bluesky displays a proper embed for Bandcamp links 🥳🥳,
here’s some shameless self promotion!

The Fisher King blends piano and string quintet with electronic textures and field recordings for an album of loss, solastalgia, and hope.

“Why do you want to shit on entire swathes of human endeavor and wreck the planet while you’re doing it? Why are you so determined to be awful and amoral? Everything about your priorities is messed up, and you should all be heartily ashamed, abashed and embarrassed.”

The Fisher King, by John M Davis 7 track album

Welp, once again it is #BandcampFriday where artists get to keep 100% of the proceeds from their sales!

I’ll be plugging other folks’ music today but I’ll start with ‘The Fisher King’. Released in January, it’s my electro-orchestral vision of hope.

That other recent work probably has its place too. Moods are not always to be trusted in the judgement of creative things.

I was brought up on Shunn and thus live by the name | title | page# in my header. Even draft number, and date. Like you suggest, others may never print anything. But I do and everything printed has a header with enough information to be considered Metadata.
