So it’s VERY clear they’re intending to be Islamophobic af here while conveniently ignoring that the Arabic-Islamic culture gave us brain tumour surgery in the 10th fucking century as well as a host of other incredible things.

I just think it's pretty obvious Palantir should be nowhere near our NHS and that alone renders Labour unfit to lead this country.

Seriously I spend almost as much time arguing about this as I do on CPD as an autism specialist so always in your corner my lovely

Always gonna argue this as an autistic autism specialist teacher who fell into my specialism because it was considered incredible and unusual that I *checks notes* treat autistic and intellectually disabled people like they’re people.

THIS FUCKING EXACTLY. Also as if there aren’t plenty of people who need a middling amount of support who are categorised as one or the other and thus denied care or autonomy. It also means HSN autistic people with comorbid conditions just get written off as “just bad autism” which is really shit.

3 and a bit years since my trochleoplasty, distal wedge osteotomy, tibial tubercule osteotomy and MPFL modification. I’m still in pain every day but I’m still so so grateful I had in done cos I don’t have to walk in fear anymore. It’s a long slog but it’s worth it.

(I say this as an HE SEND specialist and someone who had to drop out of a PhD for what we now know was autism)

I would also theorise that the perceived “unjustified growth” in grades may also match the growth in people getting appropriate diagnoses for things like ADHD and dyslexia and gaining the appropriate adjustments that help them achieve in a way they wouldn’t otherwise.

lol Fry and Laurie are not “dark” British humour they are fluffy as fuck. The choice of Laurie for something dark as House was a bold and surprising move for him.

Or a bit of a flawed sexist but lovable and good hearted dickhead, like the MASH gang.

The countdown to Charlotte Church being 16 and thus “legal” in the tabloids here in the UK stands out to me. It’s ridiculous because the age of consent is so kids of similar age don’t get charged by pissy parents, not so middle aged men can predate on literal children.

That waffle absolutely deserved to be posted. If all we post on social media is nihilistic gloom we’re all doomed, let’s have some joy.

I’m still a little like this in restaurants but learning to cook broadened my palate in a big way. Flour based sauces can still fuck off though.

Yeah as someone who it is now realised had ARFID (I nearly died cos I didn’t like milk as a newborn) the people around you learn fast to take you to the right places and you learn to just order plain rice in a sushi place or something. Or just sit and watch everyone else eat.

I mean, autistic people will sometimes have limited food tolerances (speaking as someone who experienced that) but then you just go to a place that *actually caters to that*. It’s genuinely not hard.

So autistic man has autistic kid (yes I know he’s a young adult) and instead of either a) helping diversify his food carefully because this could well be ARFID or b) choosing appropriate places for his ARFID Musk just parades him to make restaurants feel aggrieved?

It’s alright, in 100 years it’ll be the holiday destination everyone comes to on holiday, moves to, changes, then complains that it isn’t the same. Oh and wonders why the rates of lung cancer are so high (it’s the radon)

I had to scroll WAY too far to find out this wasn’t about Mitchell and Webb and thus reduce my blood pressure a tiny bit.

My mum knew a horse called Sundance when she was a teenager. We go to a riding school for a friend’s birthday when I was a teen and something runs straight at my mum and there he was with his face in her hair. I’m not a horse person myself but I love that they have so much personality.

Yeah the look of a woman walking on eggshells was heartbreaking

Omg that woman looked so afraid when she was with him I was close to crying. I heaved such a sigh of relief that she’d got the fuck out.
