Yeah! I wouldn't be surprised if he moved up on the depth chart over Dieng soon...

He can play LW / ST. But when I watched a handful of games in Colombia before he arrived I think I liked him more centrally...

Not taking anything away from an incredible Chancalay strike, but this was superb from Pereyra & Diaz. Never giving up on the play, winning the recovery, counter-pressing, and winning duels - what a great mentality.

Great to see Gene finally getting a run of games to build confidence and showcase his abilities. He’s improving every game, and it’ll be a difficult decision to drop him for Trapp anytime soon.

I really like how much more aggressive our press has been under Knowles than it was under Ramsay. Knowles isn't afraid to go man-to-man, whereas Ramsay went more zonal and kept a +1 or +2 across our defensive line.

Who do you think will start tomorrow night in the Cup?

A couple things about the Duncan goal:

💎 Gene pushes forward into a great half-space area (a huge benefit over Trapp if he can continue to do this)

💎 I wonder if Knowles, knowing he wants central combinations more often, would have preferred Markanich to turn as he collected

Great goal. 👌

From the “Defensive Actions Heatmap” of the Seattle & San Diego games, you can see what Knowles is talking about. Seattle had a much deeper, clearly defined back 5, whereas against San Diego, the defensive line was far more aggressive.

You can really see the change in our defensive structure & attitude since Cruz arrived.

Oh! Just checked the roster and he no longer has a "Loaned Out" under his status. Must've been updated this past week, i'll update mine now. 😄

What I love most about the Yeboah goal is Duncan’s decision. He could’ve easily recycled possession and gone backwards, but instead he spotted the inside diagonal pass, splitting three defenders, to Yeboah. 👌

When Ramsay first arrived, he added "additional dotted lines" on the training fields.

Did Knowles keep them? Change them?

What did people think of Owen Gene’s first start?

Knowle's praised his "good range of passing", but I think that's actually my biggest criticism of Gene...

This was a great wide sequence. We were in a 4v5, so there was no numerical superiority, but with 4 quick, precise passes and a vertical rotation, we created a great chance through dynamic superiority.

This is the first game this season where our top 3 passers were all midfielders, and not dominated by our CBs. One thing I noticed was them dropping into the first line, between the CBs and wingbacks, to collect.

Pereyra always did this, and now it feels like they all are doing it more...

The mentality I'm talking about his him bending over & putting his hands on his knees when Reus is about to take his first attempt on goal. Then stays that way, all the way through the 2nd attempt.

Probably could not have prevented the goal, but could've definitely made it more difficult for Reus.

Duggan did get beat (by a great pass & even better touch), but I just can't comprehend this defensive mentality by Markanich...

Pressing distances can be worse in a back 5, so pushing Markanich & Duncan higher into the midfield line with Gene & Triantis helped shorten those distances. I really like the aggressive decision made by Knowles.

"I still think that we're going with a back 3." - Manny

I imagine Romero/Duggan/Diaz like last game.

With Trapp out, it's a big opportunity for Gene (only 33 mins played this season).

Also, will Fitz make the gameday roster? (Knowles latest comments after Manny clip)
