I’m currently on 2022.3 and thinking about upgrading, mainly for the option to remove the Unity splash screen. Have you noticed real performance or workflow improvements? Any downsides? 👀

This! For work I used a Lenovo gaming laptop because I need to run Unreal Engine on it, but for everything else I choose to use the MacBook (mostly if I have to travel, which the weight difference is VERY noticeable)

The game A Stranded Spark running smoothly on a Macbook Air M1

I’m not a huge fan of Apple, but I have to admit that the Macbook Air M1 works impressively well after five years. Thinner than my notepad, comfy trackpad and keeps up perfectly for developing A Stranded Spark! Of course I’m not expecting to make anything visually heavy, but works for me! #gamedev

The finish line is closer! I planned A Stranded Spark to be a 6 month project, but life, work, nice feedback and falling in love with the project made me extend the development for almost 2 years. But I regret nothing!🦊🧡🏝️

I found between thousands of papers the first design I intended for Guina, quite a change to the last version 😆

Her design is inspired on the traditional catalan puppets called “putxinel•lis” but with a “foxy” look. Also “guineu” in Catalan means “fox”, hance her name 🦊

It's not easy, but it helps a lot in the long run! In many cases, games have to be descoped in order to be finished, and prioritizing shipping the game with the resources available over making "the game of your dreams" is something super important!
