After 14+ years of Tory incompetence and misrule, and the spectre of fascism under Farage & his billionaire conmen, I really wish the Labour Party in power would get its fekin’ act together, stop power plays and infighting and just deliver hope for the country, with the promised lack of drama 🙄
We are stuck togethir on a tinye beautiful driftinge rocke wyth nobodye outsyde and nobodye cominge to save us. We are the onlye ones heere yn a wild expanse of night and silence. We sholde be lovinge each othir all the tyme. We sholde be greetinge each othir "hey, miracle!" We sholde be daunsinge.
This famous ukiyo-e (or woodblock) print is by Katsushika Hokusai. It shows two Japanese women (one with traditional blackened teeth) sharing a telescope. Judging by their fixed stares & open mouths, they are viewing something that fascinates them.

The picture shows Bladder Campion flowers and buds against a green, background, (foliage). The flowers have white petals and pink patterned bladders behind each flower.
A group of pink Red Campion flowers against a bamboo fence with a fir tree in the background.
A single White Campion flower with buds against a green background.
If you love Moths, grow some Campions in your garden 🦋
Red Campion, (which is pink 😊), White Campion and Bladder Campion, (both white) all provide food for adult moths and some of their caterpillars 🐛

I reported the source video to Facebook, which, as a reminder, non-consensually depicts a minor in order to fuel his mass vilification on the internet, leading to calls for this death and so on.
Facebook: this is fine, actually. What's your problem?
The Mating Game
As I watched the male Kestrel arrived & called repeatedly - a vole was passed to the female in mid-air.
She landed on a fence post to inspect the gift & then flew into a tree to consume it.
All part of the pair-bonding process - they have mated at least daily for the last week or so.
The head of the British Music Hall Society told me that they have warehouses full of bequeathed memorabilia and nothing to do with it, their average member is 80 y/o and their youngest is in their 50s
This is what I think about when I see flag-shaggers pretending to be "defending British culture."

Did u know? Don't weed your *weeds*, just enjoy the wildlife that having them attracts, like this floofy, gingery Carder bee foraging on these beautiful White Dead Nettles (Lamium alba) They're free, they're prolific, they're wildlife-friendly & they're native to 🇬🇧 - such a win-win. 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🕷️🐝🦋🪰
Tulips flower a little later at my Devon allotment on the hill.
A nice surprise on Sunday as I’d forgotten I planted Queen of the Night there.

This is why I haven't been on social media much!
I've been horrified by what we found about Natural England pausing designation to SSSIs - and the consequent loss of nationally important sites for nature to development:

Rejection comes with the territory but you brush it off and move on. Occasionally, however, a particular #cartoon not finding a home really pisses you off. This is one of them. #sealife #pollution #aquarium
A cartoon-style drawing shows two cats sitting in front of a pet carrier. One cat says: “I go in, and when I come out I’m at the vet… then I go back in, and when I come out I’m home…” The other cat responds: “Could it be? A wormhole!”
