It's nauseating that we've created a system in this country where there are genuinely harsher consequences for calling a transphobe a transphobe than for calling an innocent trans person just trying to live their lives and mind their own business a sexual predator.

Beth worked as a doctor for years until a transphobe turned up. Now, she's had to leave her job, leave her home, move to the other side of the world and is still being hounded and harassed by the media and cult.
She did nothing but exist as trans in the orbit of Sandie Peggie.

Amazing that Americans have no way of experiencing the sheer political thrill of “the prime minister is probably going to have to resign and just hasn’t realised it yet”

Reform is a MAGA satellite party and a way for Farage to grift like Trump does.
That's all it is.
The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
So now we've established that Mandelson is a corrupting force that sullies everything and everyone in his sphere of influence, what are we going to do about the fact he hand-picked the entirety of Labour's 2024 intake of new MPs?
Same, surprised by how un-hyped I am.
Comics folks, I've been working with James for a while now on a still-to-be-announced project for Mad Cave. He's been the most meticulous, best organized editor I've ever encountered in comics. If you're hiring, look no further.
In Scotland it already is.
For years I’ve been saying “If they’d not made any more Marvel movies or TV shows after Endgame, by now Doomsday would actually feel like a big deal,” so it’s funny that we got that glut of other films and TV shows only for Marvel to say “Nah none of them matter this follows on direct from Endgame.”
Maybe this is me being an awkward bastard, but I am going to avoid seeing the Avengers: Endgame re-release out of principle, and if Doomsday is more confusing or harder to follow as a result I will give it shit for that accordingly and be adamant this is a failing of the film and not of my viewing.
A tale as old as time: there are two story ideas I’ve had rolling around in my head for ages that each felt kinda half-formed and missing something, and everything has snapped into relief in my head by having the brain-fart of combining those two stories into one story.
The new logo for Infowars has been revealed.
The Onion has successfully landed a deal to take over Alex Jones' site after 17 months of legal issues.
Tim Heidecker will serve as the site's creative director.
Ask anyone who's ever had the pleasure to have worked with him: James is *such* an excellent editor and overall wonderful person to have on your team.
Any publisher would be wise to quickly pick him up before anyone else does!
I’ve been listening to the new Peaches album “No Lube So Rude” a lot in the lead-up to this gig and in the time since, and am growing increasingly confident in my feeling that it’s my fave ever album of hers after “I Feel Cream,” which appears to be less popular but is her masterpiece IMO.
Like, I see this star-studded cast, and I struggle to think who they'll play, as yes, Elden Ring certainly has characters, but the player character is a cipher, and even the named characters are abstractions, their actual development a fable from long ago, you presented with their calcified husks.
Playing Elden Ring was the most indelible video game experience of my life, it's the GOAT for me, and yet I struggle to think how such a singularly video game approach to narrative will transfer to film. But I trust Alex Garland and A24 to have a take that's at least interesting.
That may not happen at Mad Cave, but I’m hopeful it will happen somewhere else, as I’m sure an editor as widely respected as you won’t be without a home base for long. Wishing you all the best for your next steps!
I’m so sorry to hear this, James. Among my creator friends who have books at Mad Cave, they have all gushed about what an incredible editor you are and how collaborating with you was a highlight of doing a book at Mad Cave. It made me hope we could have a chance to work together.

The funny thing about Power Girl's boob window discourse is her ass is out.
It is clear that many cis people are not aware just how up to her neck Rowling is in funding and driving anti trans sentiment in the UK.
She's not just a person with a vile opinion.
