(bewildered) i will never vote for tucker carlson
hmm. interesting. would you say it damn near killed him?
And I think Hasan is a total fool for trying to argue that Mamdani embracing Obama is “good for the left.” We are not making liberals more “left” by rehabilitating Obama; we are moving right. Do you, though. Whatever. It’s been a nauseating two days seeing people glaze a mass murderer.
still not sure how to pronounce Nguyen and every time i think i've finally learned here comes another person saying No, Actually. first it was "win" then it was like the "ng we in" in "thi-ng we in-tend" then "new-win" and now "like the 'nguin' in 'penguin' but less emphasis on the g" so i give up
soldiers are strong and strong people don't get sick, obviously
well i've got dinner figured out at least
oh cool the jollibee near me is participating in the ffxiv collab :)
they're so deceptively simple but they're so cool...

they're so good tho...
also sorry i got that wrong. Greek engineer but living in Alexandria (the one in Egypt) during the Roman Era
just a coincidence that i am thinking about pantographs, a machine used to translate motions into larger or smaller versions, when i am getting into painting miniatures
they're not even terribly complex, pantographs were invented in the 1600s (and apparently first described in ancient greece but i never understood how that's different. unless it's like a "man it would be cool to make something like this but we don't have the tools or metalworking necessary" thing)
a Janvier reducing machine, invented in 1899 by a French engineer named Victor Janvier, and used by the US Mint to make coin dies until 2008(!!)
i don't think any machine has fascinated me as much as the Janvier reducing machine that i learned about in an episode of how it's made. an artist would carve a larger version of the coin, and the machine would trace the surface and transcribe it to a smaller version which was then used to make dies
like "rule 0: if you can make your guys not get sick, make them not get sick"
if vaccination/inoculation existed during sun tzu's time i honestly think he'd put it ahead of the supply chain and "try to trick your enemy" stuff because damn imagine being able to prevent the spread of disease
pbr is releasing a pickle beer next month and i am dying to try it..
also mine is probably this. ham salad sandwich. horrible texture and flavor profile. irredeemable. mom kept making that shit tho
ok that's fair but frying does mellow the pickle flavor quite a bit, and with the breading and dipping sauce it's a completely different thing at the end. i do like pickles tho tbf but i LOVE fried pickles
please say sike...
they're really good, is the thing. it's just meat in sauce on a bun. nothing repellent about it
i know i need to start small and the whole point of the set i got was so i didn't immediately invest a ton of money into the hobby and realize i don't like it after all. but i think i would like to make dioramas... we'll see tho
people are in this thread saying shit like tuna casserole and sloppy joes. wild
