What a gorgeous photo, PacBirds!

Gorgeous photo, Rina. π
A very risky move posting so many birds, Dave. I can see a penalty coming from Alan. 5 minutes on the naughty step maybe? ππ€£
No need to answer. This is a beautiful photo. Hope your hike with Sam was fun. Everyone appreciates the effort you and Rob put in to run the BOTD! π«Άπ
Three mourning doves are standing in a group on a driveway, close to the edge of a lawn. One is looking down at the ground, another is looking ahead and the third is looking sideways across the lawn.
Today I actually have images for both categories of #BirdOfTheDay. My second photo is of Mourning Doves, taken this morning, for #WhatTheFlock.

I see the difference! Thank you so much, Mairead.
I see that the lupine is causing issues in Norway and Iceland especially. I hadn't known that they are considered invasive in Europe. They are native to Canada.
How lovely. I haven't had a lot of luck with getting bird photos, but I keep looking! π
Thank you, Mairead. I am seeing it more and more on people's lawns.
The Siberian Squill is a non-native plant that is now spreading throughout southern Ontario. It is native to Russia and Turkey and was introduced to Canada from Russia as an ornamental plant in the 1800's. Its small blue flowers are star or bell shaped and have six petals which hang down towards the ground. They are considered an invasive species because they are hard to control and crowd out native plants. They spread quickly to form carpets of blue across grassy areas. The plant is toxic to many animals.
Siberian Squill is showing up on lawns in Ontario. Details in ALT.

Gorgeous photo, Mairead!
Beautiful! I don't think I would make it to the top of the mountain. Is there a lift?? π€£
Well done SE! I love to watch videos of humans saving animals. π
Stunning. Soph! π
Stunning photo, Alan. I live in hope that warm weather will arrive here soon. Have a good rest today. A little walk to the pub could really help ease those achy legs. π
Long narrow twigs of a red maple have burst into flower and are pointed skyward. Balanced precariously on the very end of one of the twigs is a red winged blackbird. Behind the branches is a pale blue sky, with not a cloud in sight.
For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme, set by @alan678.bsky.social, here is a red winged blackbird sitting on a flowering maple.

Such a beautiful photo, Alan. The colour is stunning!
You too. π
Thank you, Alan. I was wondering if you were having connection issues again today.
Thank you, Robyn.
It was a lovely vacation in 2005. The scenery was so beautiful.
A single bloom of an African Daisy. The pink petals blend to white closer to the centre. The central disc is dark blue, with a band of orange around it. The background behind the flower is a mix of dark and light green leaves.

Beautiful, IG!
Such a beautiful photo, Rina!
Thank you so much!
@jeffgreen53.bsky.social I noticed your comments yesterday about wanting more theme challenges. Take a look at these. There may be something there that interests you. Some change on a weekly basis and the updated list is very kindly posted by Robyn on Mondays.
In the foreground are large evergreen trees, with a view down to a clear grassy area. From there the forest has grown up the mountains, with the peaks of the Dolomites being bare and snow-covered. The sky is a bright blue with a few white fluffy clouds.

I love the colour of the sugar maple flowers but I haven't seen any yet. I walked through the park this morning dressed like I was going to the north pole and I was still cold!! ππ₯Ά
A close-up of a branch of a maple tree in spring, against a clear blue sky. The red flowers bloom before the leaves appear.
Mairead @maireadd100.bsky.social inspired me to see the beauty of red maple trees in spring. I have to admit that I hadn't noticed it before.
