21st century dev bio at its best! I can't help but point out that not one but two Bruker microscopes (Acquifer IM, MuVi) were used for gentle&long term time lapse imaging of developing Nematostella here. No need to mount your invertebrate (cnidaria, planaria, crustaceans), we can do the time lapse!

Perhaps not the most convenient time for EU, where most people, who will see this post, live. However, one can always go back to the recordings.
The relevant technologies featured are our benchtop multiphoton microscope Ultima 2P Plus, the range of Inscopix miniscopes and the superresolution Vutara VXL microscope.
Like last year, we are running an online Bruker Fluorescence Microscopy neuroscience miniconference. It is focused on the actual science one can do with our microscopes presented by researchers, not sales presentations.
We are looking for an experienced light microscopy specialist, motivated to support our users in the Advanced Light Microscopy Facility at EMBL Heidelberg.

Don't miss it! We will present several different imaging modalities popular among zebrafish researchers #lightsheet #HCS #screening
I suppose most EU zebrafish researchers will attend European zebrafish meeting in July in Vienna #EZM2026. It is going to be a great event like the previous one in Krakow.
Important note for you: Come early, already on 6th in the evening. The conference starts with Bruker Luxendo workshop on 7th.
Our study on shape diversity in cnidarians is now published. The final version includes extensive new data that substantially extend the original bioRxiv preprint. Congrats to everyone who contributed to this work! www.cell.com/cell/fulltex...

Interesting points:
📌max projection on the fly to see what's going on
📌data compression helps hugely (zeroing the background, especially if your sample takes up only a small part of FOV)
📌not only processing, also "just" visualization of a 4D lightsheet dataset is non-trivial
So, go and listen.
Whoever tried some lightsheet microscopy knows that image acquisition is the fun easy part. The real challenge comes later.
This @brukercorporation.bsky.social Luxendo podcast episode touches on the real challenges.

If you are going to the 1st German Fish Model Research Meeting" in Heidleberg in September, consider signing up for Bruker workshop. The registration is already open.
We will cover high throughput screening as well as time-lapse imaging on a lightsheet.

The HIVE underwent quite some upgrades so we are running a webinar to introduce them. If big microscopy data is something you are dealing with, do consider joining. 👇
www.bruker.com/en/news-and-...
One of the Bruker FM products I sell to light microscopists is a server for image processing and storage, the HIVE.
>150 mainly imaging facilities over the years thought it is a good idea to get a HIVE and I'm sure they still do. Even the first installs now 10 years old are mostly still running.
But jokes aside, this will be a condensed value proposition directly from my colleague who is building these. So if big data is something you are dealing with, I recommend to join and get all the info and insights first hand.
I talked about this server for image processing and storage to all microscopists that were willing to listen (also to those not refusing too actively).
HIVE underwent an upgrade for next generation hardware. So it is time for everyone's favorite pastime activity...a webinar! goto.bruker.com/4aCYm0J
For whoever going to BonnBrain in March, consider extending your stay by one day and participate in our hands-on! workshop.

Eye candy: article about expansion microscopy of protists.

Unicellular eukaryotic diversity is often overlooked but I'm thankful it was part of curriculum during my undergrad in Prague. There is exciting and weird cell biology going on in different protists.

Nanodiamonds for spatial resolution benchmarking in two-photon microscopy
We introduce nanodiamond-based phantoms as a robust, reusable alternative to bead–agarose samples for PSF calibration.

I'm sharing this reminder because right after the conference we have an open demo day at DZNE Bonn, which will include voltage imaging on Bruker 2P microscope and Ca imaging in freely moving mice with Inscopix miniscopes

We (Bruker Fluorescence Microscopy) will run a satellite event on March 26th. A mixture of a hands on demo of our 2P and miniscopes and our user meeting.
One can attend independently of the conference, so this is a free event for anyone who can make a daytrip to Bonn.
