Yeah, true. UV lights are pretty effective and don't require much maintenance...

Anecdotally it seems like dirty hands/spaces are visible and thus easily equated to "bacteria/viruses and bad." Whereas air...much harder to grasp the concept that air needs to be cleaned?

Bluesky feels like this magical place where all the leading scientific and medical minds of the universe have agreed to finally congregate without any of the noise.

Really happy I discovered this place. Thank you all for jumpstarting it!

hahaha, truth! Put the filters everywhere. All the places. Make it mandatory. Factor it into restaurant health scores.

OR, 0.57; 95% CI: 0.32-1.04 🥲

I’m so surprised that there aren’t more and bigger studies on this. I understand that collecting data is expensive etc etc. BUT I think the public health implications would be huge. If their effects are even just close to an OR = 0.5, just put them everywhere pls 🙏

This x 1000! Really feel this tweet. Sometimes it feels like those of us aware of aerosol infections are the modern day Ignaz Semmelweis...seen as crazy despite all of the evidence supporting our claims. The best part is that people avidly wash their hands, which objectively, IS MORE WORK ALREADY.

She’s very impressive indeed! Listened to her talk on a podcast and was very impressed with how open minded she was re: AI and healthcare, and specifically how it could empower / has already empowered one of her dermatology patients to get to better outcomes in tricky cases

+1 !

Also, if anyone has this for AI + Healthcare folks, I'd love to see it!!
