genuinely can't remember the last time I saw a politician who isn't endlessly blaming my wife and my friends (online and off) for the ills of the nation. and that's why we will both be voting green

Farage, Trump, Musk: your boy Javier Milei just took one hell of a beating. Why so quiet? | Aditya Chakrabortty The wild politics and chainsaw made Argentina’s president an economic hero for the right. And now, with his nation’s finances in chaos: silence, writes Guardian columnist Aditya Chakrabortty

Elon Musk: “I love Javier Milei.”

Kemi Badenoch: “Javier Milei is the template.”

Donald Trump: “My favourite president.”

Nigel Farage: "Amazing. Cutting and slashing … doing all the things he’s done … that’s leadership.”

Meanwhile... in Argentina

A Labour government that does not fight back against the far right, racism and extremism fundamentally misunderstands the nature of its electoral support.

Many people are convinced, because of what they’ve seen online, that the know what motivated the accused killer of Charlie Kirk.
The truth is we don’t have a motive and in some ways the picture is murkier than it was this morning.
Powerful people have blamed the “Left” - without evidence…

Worried about being criticised, ostracised or blacklisted because you used genAI tools in your writing? Here's a great hack to make sure it never happens to you:

Do the writing yourself, like a grown-up.

Tories pledge to get 'all our oil and gas out of the North Sea' The government warns Kemi Badenoch's plans would "only accelerate the worsening climate crisis".

Why on earth do the Tories want to keep people locked into high energy bills? And, come to that, why is the BBC citing Reform but saying nothing about climate science or renewable alternatives?
Complete madness - except for the fossil fuel industry of course

Bland, easy to follow, for fans of everything: what has the Netflix algorithm done to our films? When the streaming giant began making films guided by data that aimed to please a vast audience, the results were often generic, forgettable, artless affairs. But is there a happy ending?

Fascinating. Why films made by Netflix are so awful. www.theguardian.com/media/2025/a...

The BBC's Plan to Appease Nigel Farage News that BBC executives plan to alter their programming in order to win over Reform voters is the latest sign of a corporation that has become dangerously cowed by the right

“I don’t remember anyone ever saying to us ‘Oh I just don't think we're properly reflecting the Green Party view, or the liberal-left view on this story’,” one former BBC journalist told me.

“It was always just slanted in one direction – which was basically the nativist, authoritarian direction.”

F**k’s sake @bbcnews I really don’t care what Reform’s policies are on asylum seekers or how they want to harm vulnerable people. Why is this the second item on the news? Why don’t you report their policies on the NHS? Or how they want to defund councils. I have had to stop listening to BBC news

Only allow young people to vote if they have basic political education. Can be done neutrally. Start with basic history of each party, their funders, manifestos, positions on each key issue. Invite leaders of each, encourage debate etc. Take the power from the ignorant and right wing media control
