Everything bad in the region happened because of US involvement under the guise of freeing their people from oppressive regimes. In reality, the U.S. interventions are the oppressive forces.

To anyone claiming that it’s a good thing we’re invading Iran because we’re somehow freeing their people:

That “regime” has been fighting off Al-Queda and Isis, two entities that the U.S. funded initially. Also, we overthrew the democratically-elected Iranian government in 1953.

And this is hardly the first time that the U.S. and its allies bombed school children with U.S.-made weapons.

🚨Abducted, tortured and killed. An Israeli occupation special forces unit seized farmer Montaser Samour, shot him, and later returned his body riddled with bullets near Al-Qarara in northern Khan Younis. Maher Samour was also shot and killed in the same incident outside the so-called buffer zone, in what witnesses describe as a field execution.

Residents say the two men were targeted by Israeli occupation forces while in the area, and that one of them was shot again after being detained. Earlier accounts described how one was killed on the spot while the other was wounded, taken away alive, and later found with multiple gunshot wounds, his body bearing signs locals say point to torture.

Dozens of mourners filled the streets of Khan Younis to carry the bodies of Maher and Montaser Samour, as anger and grief spread through the city. Families and neighbours say the two men posed no threat and were simply present near their land.

Iran will be just like Iraq; another pointless, deadly war based on lies of weapons of mass destruction.

Hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians were killed by the U.S., and this will be no different. The U.S. & Israel have already killed Iranian civilians.

It’s time to protest this new war with Iran.

All these wars are fought just to protect the profits of Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Exxon Mobil, and Chevron.

No civilian lives are worth that.

In order to elect the populist leftists we want in 2028 & beyond, we need an entirely new system, one that isn’t controlled by corrupt, corporate parties.

And that starts by creating new campaign finance legislation that effectively overturns Citizens United and that enables ranked choice voting.

Some people have told me that this system might be similar to market socialism or syndicalism, but I don’t know exactly how it should be classified.

I feel like this way of governing our economy would benefit everyone in every community and would solve many issues I see with capitalism, state-run communism, and even many mainstream forms of socialism.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

I’ve worked for several non-profits, and they’ve provided wonderful services to their communities and helped many people at low costs (since they only have to make just enough money to keep operating).

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

what if the government just mandated that all organizations can be run as private entities but must be run as non-profit organizations and/or co-ops?

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

Instead of capitalism (where every industry is run by corporations for a profit and gets ruined by CEOs trying to squeeze as much profit as possible, hurting lives in the process), AND also instead of state communism (where the government/state runs every industry as a single all-powerful entity)…

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

And there are many forms of socialism, many of which have nothing to do with state-run communism. Here is my idea for my ideal form of socialism:

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

Capitalism breeds greedy and evil entities (intelligence agencies, armies, international economic agencies, and mega corporations) that will destroy anything (including children) to protect corporate profits of Western countries.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

However, over a dozen other cases failed because the capitalist-extremist CIA (and other western entities) conducted interventions, staged coups, assassinations, civil wars, and targeted economic collapses in those countries. They didn’t fail because of socialism; they failed because of capitalism.

Many conservatives say, “wElL sOciAliSm fAiLeD eVeRyWhEre iT wAs tRiEd.” My response is that in the 20th century, China and the USSR failed for a number of reasons (including the socialism and communism not being democratic, and power-hungry men took control).

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

Similarly, the idea that competition is the driving force in how life thrives on Earth (and therefore capitalism is just human nature) has also been disproven. There’s much more cooperation in nature than competition, so the “capitalism is just the natural way” worldview is completely wrong.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

Neoliberalism is not the way. Radical Leftism is.

Also, the idea that capitalism is the only solution to the “tragedy of the commons” has been disproven by many indigenous cultures.

Consequently, those local populations had to solely rely on food that the west imported back to them at expensive prices, which resulted in vast malnourishment in African countries. Therefore, under capitalism, even well-meaning liberal policies still end up exploiting the Global South.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

However, this incentivized European corporations to find cheap land by stealing farmland in African countries. That land was then used to grow and ship products to Europe, instead of being used to grow food for the local populations.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

Even well-meaning “liberal” domestic policies under capitalism end up exploiting communities in the Global South. For example, about a decade ago, the EU created a policy directing EU countries to rely more on biofuels instead of fossil fuels.

2 months ago 0 0 1 0

But now, I’m a socialist. I realized that, even in social democracies, although the people of those societies do live humanely, the communities in the Global South still end up getting exploited.
