Trying to be moral police while simultaneously cherry-picking exceptions based on popular preconceptions just defeats the point. You’re not saving anyone, you’re reinforcing the existing biases that cause the suffering you claim to fight.

Either admit your tastes in fictional characters aren’t indicative of who you are as a person or admit that you’re contributing to certain types of abuse being already romanticized IRL, let alone in fiction.

People will be against portraying abusive characters with a personality besides their crimes or else it’s “romanticizing” them, but turn around and idolize abusive (hot) women or “charismatic” men in their mid 20’s or older, who happen to not be *overt* sex criminals.

I’m not the kind of person to disparage Christianity for no good reason; I’m against any organized religion, so I think it’s more fair to try to approach it with nuance.
