I was lucky enough to be hiking around Alaska with my daughter during Mother's Day weekend.

It's not an inviting space at all. Too dark, trying to be edgy when it needs to be bright and welcoming. And not much of a draw for average folks.

How is it that 20 years goes by so quickly? Happy birthday to my daughter who is thriving as a cabinet maker here in #yyj. She's accomplished so much over the last 20 years!

I took a job that allows me to walk to work. 20 minutes each way if I hoof it. Life changing.

I shot out of bed, woke up my husband and couldn't go back to sleep. It was a rumbler from the north.

My walk home was glorious and warm.

I think one major life skill that parents and care givers can teach their kids is how to cook. And how to enjoy it!

My Sunday's look like this most weeks. My daughter and I have a ritual of cleaning out our kitchens so see what we can use for the week, meal plan around that and heading off to the grocery store together.

Then it's back to our respective kitchens to prep food for the week.

He's doing so much better! He's still getting used to it but is not in pain. Last night was not fun.....

We said goodbye to Buds eye today. His eye ruptured after an infected ulcer. Do not recommend. But do have great words for Island Veterinary Eye Specialists here in #yyj. Buds is celebrating his 13th birthday on Monday! #seniordog #bostonterrier

You know what sucks? Menopause and skiing. I'm hot then cold, my boots don't fit properly and I'm tired.

But also having the best time. #soconfused #turning50

Buddy's eye is infected (he has an ulcer) and looks like it may have to be removed. Poor guy is on antibiotics and drops for now, but lethargic and sore.

Anyone been through this before?
