They (try to) speak to the electorate, but answer to their paymasters. E.g., preelection, say they will do "X" for the general public, but then do "Y" for the corporate "business as usual" sector.

Fixing that will take a "Green" revolution

The Green Party is now more "Labour" then the Labour party (names are arbitrary. Putting actionable policies into action are what define what political parties are about)

Genuine "Labour" politicians can join the "Greens"

Yeah, unfortunately it's the tried & tested method of sociopolitical defection. It's a type of insincerity. The solution, as Zack is doing, is to focus on the problem. E.g., public services being cut or underfunded (AKA "austerity")

Who are these politicians really representing & why? I believe they're representing the businesses, including media "empires", that keep them in "power" (generally related to money, assets, etc)
