Trying to work out some of my worries through art.
Hugs to everyone who feels like you’re stepping through quicksand these days.
As Chris Pureka sings, “it is a heavy time to have a beating heart.”

There is a part of me reading this thread and thinking, “nonononono, don’t give them any ideaaaasssss.”

I’m not disagreeing with you, but wondering why you happen to be going after AOC when she’s done more than most. Why not save your energy for those who deserve more condemnation? And again, how would you have done things differently given that we are not in the majority?

Hi friend. Maybe go after reps who are not actually saying a thing. AOC is one of the only ones who is actually asking the right questions and applying the heat. Her/our team is in the minority. Any suggestions on what we can do about the fascist king?

Not believing in my country right now, but definitely believing in people like you. Thank you.

Hey @etsy: you know what rhymes with “Etsy?”
Nazi.
And unless you want the same historical reputation/legacy, take all the Alligator Alcatraz/Auschwitz shit down. Not shopping there until you do. And it looks like I’ve got hundreds of thousands of friends joining me.

I was eight when a man stuck his tongue down my throat. I was waiting for my mom to get out of work *in broad daylight on the grounds of Honolulu City Hall*.
He had been following me and gave me the creeps but I didn’t make a scene because my parents taught me not to hurt people’s feelings.

My husband was telling me about how his grandmother used to call soap operas her "programs."
Then he said something surprising. "And she used to watch porn as well."
I stopped and turned around. "Really? She watched porn?"
Him, laughing: "No, I said she watched Lawrence Welk."

On this very day, TWENTY years ago, I wrote this at the end of a long journal entry.
I was writing about how frustrating it was to date for so long and not find the right person for me.
*Eight days later*, I met the man I’ve been spectacularly happily married to for 17 years.
Don’t give up. ❤️

Exactly! And what are they doing with all the money they’re allegedly “saving?”

What a speech it was! As usual, you expertly portrayed history’s stories and then wrapped it up with encouragement for us all to do the next best thing. Extraordinary. Your continue to embody the best of our country and decades from now, people will tell YOUR
story.

Lame Congress folk
Useless, spineless, cowering
Why do we pay them?

With no due process
Black and brown immigrants are
Snatched of our streets

Highest court says "yes"
Unanimous, 9-0
He ignores them all

Six rich chicks fly high
Stupid, tone-deaf pointless show
Read the room, bitches

In honor of National Haiku Poetry day, here are a few I've created:
Orange rapist felon
Spews vile hatred to protect
his fragile ego

Chainsaw billionaire
Chopping all the good people
To justify lies.

Please include in this group the TENS of MILLIONS who did NOT VOTE. Also, those who voted third party. They own this shit, too.

In honor of National Haiku Poetry day:
The world is bonkers
Her letters record and soothe
Heather is the BEST

Also, a bunch of rich women flew really high up and then came down and everyone hated it.

This is a HUGE deal. Feels like a teaspoon's worth of hope but I will take it. Thank goodness he's still alive and SO grateful to Senator Van Hollen for his persistence.

Intriguing! And I agree. Middle-of-the-night ideas are usually exceptional.

This poem by Sam Pink is dedicated to everyone who thinks that the kidnapping of Kilmar Abrego Garcia is no big deal:
COATTAILS
Laughing quietly
as you follow the thing
destroying all in its way.
& then it turns
and sees you.

Wish you had been there outside the White House yesterday. You wouldn't have fumbled that trophy, Coach.

You know who would NOT have fumbled that trophy? Coach Tim Walz.

And I’m sure in two days, there will be a fresh new hell to distract us from this one. The fires keep getting lit and it seems like there aren’t enough people noticing the heat from the flames.
