A special issue of POETRY magazine will honor one of our great literary cities: Chicago!

We're calling on poets and writers who have lived in Chicago for around seven years at some point in their lives to submit their poems by May 15: https://bit.ly/42cfEO9

Excited to announce I’ve got a new novel on the way in early 2027! Set over a single day around Thanksgiving 1991, HEAVY SUGAR is a screwball noir that pinballs from Throggs Neck to Gravesend. Thrilled I’m back with Nick Whitney at @sohopress.bsky.social.

So glad to have my story How to Kill in the new issue of The Southwest Review. With a killer illustration by Sam Hadley to boot.

A greyscale background image of a bullseye reads “POP! Pre-order Gift” at the top in white text. An image of POP! by Angel Luis Colón in paperback format sits next to a photo of a POP! title refrigerator magnet. Text on a red splat above the magnet reads, “First 200 Orders” and text under it reads, “Order directly from Ruadán Books before August 18, 2026, & receive this exclusive title magnet.” The Ruadán Books logo appears in the lower left corner.

Two years ago I had my agents ask authors seeking blurbs if they had used LLMs in the writing or research for their novels. If yes, then I won’t read their books. I know I could be lied to. If I am lied to, I will LOUDLY retract my endorsement. I hope more writers might adopt a similar policy.
