I also found it a pain, and I've been out of the classroom for eleven years now. I'm sure it's worse! But giving schools the authority (and resources eg pouches) and making it about breaking the law are very different.

Didn't expect Dorries to come out in favour of cross sex hormones, but here we are
I think reducing the use of phones for most students in school is a good idea. But making teachers the ones to enforce a legal issue is going to end badly.
A total ban on phones in schools is a completely batshit, over the top, policy which shows, yet again, how out of touch Labour is with the reality of many people's lives. This will be totally unworkable for many people, including young carers as mentioned below. #r4today

Next thing you'll be suggesting people should read or common-sense check the manifestos before voting.
That seems like a rasher-nal decision

Just finished _The Incandescent_ by @emilytesh.net and it was superb. Great story, and as a former teacher I can say she caught the 'feel' of a school brilliantly. Although I had fewer demon issues. Recommended. #BookSky

I often wake up that way, but suspect that rather than solving problems my sleeping brain was causing them.
A few weeks back I spent the first half hour of my working day writing an apology email for a massive cock-up, only to realize it was something I'd *dreamed* doing.
Interesting thread.
If AI removes the grunt work for junior lawyers (eg, due diligence for corporate lawyers and discovery for litigators) then it will affect social mobility, as well as other things.
It is how you learn to be a lawyer in those areas.
Yes, because we definitely wouldn't want America being run by criminals relying on personal and family ties to ensure loyalty while enriching themselves at every opportunity by corruption and protection rackets.
So East Midlands Rail have solved their problem with regularly broken seat reservations on their London train... By not offering seat reservations.
I'm not sure this is going to be an improvement.
Revealing that the Guardian apparently couldn't actually find any examples of the ruling having "changed lives" positively. Those quoted in support simply express political agreement with it rather than being able to point to any tangible life benefit, in contrast to those quoted in opposition.
Headline on Hollywood Reporter that reads ”Paddington 4, Escape From New York' Reboot in the Works”
I misread the headline as one movie and got very excited for a moment…
And possibly here, which would explain early positive results for cold fusion.

"They just taste TOO good"
More than a little frustrating that HMRC - after sending weekly reminders to get my tax return done on time or pay penalties - have taken 11 weeks and counting to issue my repayment.
Like a retailer saying "discounts up to 80% off" when almost everything is 10% at best...
It is. By the nature of it, evidence is hard to find but it's not difficult to figure out what's going on.
