We left the 20th Century saying we must learn the lessons of history. And yet here we are, discarding them once again.

A must listen, particularly for anybody getting swept up in Musk’s latest cause célèbre, where he decides to care about girls who’ve been sexually abused in the UK.

This is real journalism, not the opportunist rubbish served by ghouls exploiting the cases of these girls for their own benefit

While we’re banning books…

Finland is teaching children in school how to recognize fake news and propaganda as part of critical thinking and civic responsibility. Some of this will seem very familiar.

Be. Like. Finland.

I love this opening paragraph about him on his Wikipedia page.

I’m guessing that whoever wrote/edited it thinks the same of him as we do

…you would love a cantankerous but good hearted relative. The place sure as hell has character and it’s a shame, albeit inevitable, that it’s going.

Going into the Bullens road stand is like entering a ground in the 1980s and for that reason alone, I’ll miss Goodison. There’s other reasons too 😄

I first went to Goodison in 1989 and oh boy, have I some memories of that place over the years, a lot of memories that are best mentioned on the pub rather than social media.

As I’ve got older and seen all the stadia replaced in the country, I have come to love Goodison in the same way…

Suppose so when looked at like that. I found the game very frustrating and if Ipswich had players who could finish, United could’ve lost the game.

Some players in that United squad have no business being at Old Trafford.

Well, I did not see this one coming. Credit once again to the hardworking folk at City Football Group for persuading Etihad to lob a few more quid at sponsoring another stadium.

Tried doing a load of anti BBC dog whistling whilst being interviewed by Victoria Derbyshire. Nobody in the crowd was biting though, which was odd.

Sure his attitude had nowt to do with being sacked by them for smacking a night porter in the gob because he wouldn’t make him a scrambled egg butty.

A miracle of a goal in a win as equally miraculous against what I reckon was the best side in Europe at the time.

United did it again in May passed.

‘Two hands are a lot’ — we’re hiring data scientists, project managers, policy experts, assorted weirdos… ‘This is possibly the single largest design flaw contributing to the bad Nash equilibrium in which … many governments are stuck. Every individual high-functioning competent person knows they …

This is similar to a blog post of Dominic Cummings soon after the Tories won the election in 2019. dominiccummings.com/2020/01/02/t...

If Musk and Trump fall out the same way that Cummings and Johnson did, then things will get interesting. Two huge egos like them don’t usually work well together

Long may it stay that way, but of course, if United become a great side again, we’ll have England picking our players off again so they can be injured whilst playing for a load of inbreds who sing about how much they hate the club that they play for.
