The Department of Energy is proposing a rule called "Rescinding New Construction Requirements Related to Nondiscrimination". Because, you know, why should people with disabilities be able to go into buildings? Please write in to oppose this by Monday 6/16. Here's a link:
You can be the system in positive ways instead- listen to autistic people, value their communication rather than correcting it, employ autistic people and don't patronize businesses that don't. Use the choices you make every day to make the world a better place for all. That is true acceptance.

I read an article recently that mentioned that parents of autistic children can feel sad or frustrated because "the system isn't built for their child." IF YOU ARE NEUROTYPICAL AND ARE AWARE OF THIS AND DO NOTHING, THAN YOU ARE THE SYSTEM.

Awareness is knowing that autistic people create and write poetry and share so much with the world; Acceptance is reading and listening to autistic people.

Who pays the price when the Autism Scholarship doesn't increase? Families of students like those I work with at Bridgeway Academy.
That's why I donate to Every Child Every Family, so my Ohio tax dollars go to scholarships for my students and their families, instead of lawmaker raises.
everychildeveryfamily.org/donate/ Ohio lawmakers haven't increased the Autism Scholarship in 3 years. Know what they have voted to increase? Their own salaries, which go up every year.
I donate to support Bridgeway Academy where I work, knowing now instead of funding lawmakers, I'm supporting my students. I'm glad my money isn't being used to support GOP laws I don't support. And the best part is, you can donate now, right before you file your 2024 taxes, and count it toward last year. If you owe Ohio for 2024, your donation counts toward what you owe. If you were due a refund, you get your donation added onto your refund and get the money right back.
Donations to a scholarship-granting organization like Every Child Every Family count dollar for dollar toward your Ohio tax bill, but instead of the money going to Ohio's legislators, it goes to student scholarships for the school you designate.
