Went 7-2 with this beautiful, beautiful draft deck. I think I'll be chasing this high the rest of the format.

Well...ok, maybe the best since Commander Masters downshifts or Modern Horizons 3.
...Muse Seeker, Graduation Day, Tablet of Discovery, Curious First Year, Pigment Wrangler, it's just goodies all the way down.
Secrets of Strixhaven is the best set for Artisan Commander that we've seen since probably... Dominaria United? Baldur's Gate?
11 new legendary creatures that are common/uncommon, and tons of really great cards for the 99. Garrison Excavator, Diary of Dreams, Topiary Lecturer, Forum Necroscribe,...
feels longer tbh
This might be my new favorite Magic card. Not my favorite new Magic card, my new favorite Magic card. Of like, all of them.
I had some water go down the wrong pipe on Tuesday and I coughed and apparently pulled a muscle in my side and I've been in and out of various states of pain since Wednesday :(
Also Bluesky won't let me post pictures which is totally unrelated but, you know, as long as we're venting.
Anyone know which 1U spell this is?
This is a callout to all current and former New England judges. Please help me build a better datascape to more accurately reflect the needs of our little corner of the country.

Realized I didn't include a link to my Killian Artisan deck. Oops! moxfield.com/decks/KAvs_g...
I'm looking forward to playing against this deck! Well, maybe. So long as not all 4+ spells that get countered are mine.
😓
@wotcmatt.bsky.social I'm looking at a Gatherer ruling for Mutagen Connoisseur that I believe was invalidated with the introduction of transforming modal cards in Spiderman.
I think it depends on how I'm doing in that particular game. If I'm ahead and you do that, fair enough. If I'm behind and you do that it's like... dude.
I once had someone Stifle my turn 1 Evolving Wilds. THAT was absolute gremlin behavior.
An inspect elemented version of an exerpt from the first Strixhaven story. The editied piece of text reads: "He must have known what I was thinking. 'I lost my brother, Jazal. The only member of our pride who cared about me. He died simply because our Boros Energy pilot needed me to flip to win.'"
damn, magic story hits different nowadays...
This deck is ALL about turning its wheels. If that's something you like, give it a go. Something else I really like about the deck is that it plays a number of old, obscure cards. I just picked up copies of Scavenged Weaponry and Hobble for it.
Tethmos High Priest and Dawn Evangel can get back our one and two-mana creatures. This includes the aforementioned Warehouse Tabby, Hateful Eidolon and Tragic Poet, as well as some utility creatures like Alseid of Life's Bounty and Cathar Commando and possibly even Killian himself.
(Takklemaggot's got an absolute wall of rules text. For our purposes, it's an enchantment that you can put on one of your creatures, then when that creature dies, you can return Takklemaggot to the battlefield attached to another one of your creatures.)
Balemurk Leech will drain your opponents for 1, which isn't very impressive until we assemble the deck's actual combo, which uses the Tabby or Knight of Doves plus Screams from Within. Or, if you have a free sac outlet, Takklemaggot. Yes, Takklemaggot.
Mesa Enchantress, Ashiok's Reaper or Hateful Eidolon can convert this loop into card draw. Blightcaster can kill your opponents' creatures.
...or if you have Warehouse Tabby or Knight of Doves, you can enchant a token creature with one of the self-returning auras, sacrifice the token creature to a sac outlet, get a replacement token and the aura back to hand. Fallen Ideal can serve as both the sac outlet and as the aura that returns.
Most Killian aura decks will load up Killian with them and attack; for this deck the primary goal is to recur the auras. This can be done by returning them to hand with Essence Reliquary or Orzhov Charm or bringing them back from the graveyard with Crystal Chimes or Tragic Poet...
The core of the deck are auras that either draw a card when they enter or return to my hand when they go to the graveyard. Nearly all of them cost only one mana with Killian's ability.
I'm currently enamored with my newest Artisan (only commons and uncommons) Commander deck: a Killian, Ink Duelist build all about recurring creature Auras. See more in thread:
Last month I bought a display box each of Dragon Shield Clear Matte and Black Matte sleeves from TCGStadium; they were having a sale. Worth keeping an eye on their website, I'd say.
One might say they've got a big storm coming

I saw @amytheamazonian.bsky.social post about Timberborn, thought it looked like a videogame I'd like, and so I went and bought it. Started playing Friday evening and stopped playing Saturday evening. I took breaks only to eat and use the bathroom. Incredible game. I might have a problem.
Now that I'm officially in my 30s, here is a companion post, also about Magic: the Gathering:
