The one time I got to go to AWP it was because AWP came to us right as things were shutting down for COVID…and the local writers’ org was fire enough to get a bunch of comped registrations for local writers…I probably shouldn’t have risked it but wanted to go SO BAD…

A small thing but for anyone with small children trying to explain what’s going on I would highly recommend the book “Noodlephant.” A fantastic parable about the power of community defense and mutual aid to combat fascism and racism, and the inherent violence of policing
