Goals scored is the most meaningful stat.

Arsenal were behind in central stats like possession, shots, passing accuracy, aerial success, and most importantly goals. How did you see it?

Arsenal are emulating the Ballack 2002 season end.

Exactly!

Arsenal were clearly second best in pretty much every aspect.

Man City clearly a better team than Arsenal who were outmuscled, outplayed, and second best in pretty much every aspect today. Arteta beaten by Guardiola yet again.

OMG Kai you must score!

And that’s a fine example of why squad depth alone doesn’t make you a great team.

Half time diaper change puts a little smile and perspective on. 😊

Man C is a much better team, and Arsenal are lucky to still be in this game. Too many basic errors, and still not a clear answer to the pressing. Arsenal must be better in the second half.

It’s worrying that Arteta still has not found an answer to the 4-2-4 pressing from MC.

We’re so absolutely fucked. 😱🙈

An injury time winner for the away team in Liverpool - I wouldn’t complain about a repeat of that in Manchester.

Has anyone seen Man City’s starting 115?

Hope he’s ready for the CL semis.

Nice to see Eze, Ødegaard, and Havertz all start.

Arsenal joined the European Super League 5 years ago. It has been quite the rollercoaster ride since then but no matter the result in Manchester today, Arsenal are in a much better place, and there are many things we as fans can be proud of.

It maybe shows football is more than results only.

Arsenal have been playing some terrible football for quite some time, yet somehow we’re in the Champions League semifinal and top of the Premier League. Football ay!

Thomas Grønnemark still has work to do at Arsenal. The throw ins are too poor too often.

I think it’s because we (mostly) have been playing like sh*t for quite some time. Our effectiveness on set pieces has masked how poor our creativity is.

Sporting is a better team than Arsenal right now. We look so scared and totally without confidence or creativity. It’s going to be a long second half.

Not a single “neutral” would prefer to watch Arsenal. That’s understandable but also annoying and worrying.

Ethan Nwaneri. Remember him? At this moment in time he could have been extremely useful. The Arsenal midfield desperately needs a player with his characteristics.

You have set a high bar for how to use stats in the game. I’ve been impressed by your consistency and stamina in a difficult landscape. Gode luck in your future endeavours. I’m sure you will be great somewhere else! 👏

Which team currently plays the type of football you most want Arsenal to emulate? #arsecastextra

So sorry to read that you have to deal with this. May it soon get better!
I am convinced you will get through it - hopefully flying high on an Arsenal triumph too.

Being damn good at set pieces has hidden a lot of problems about how Arsenal play.

It’s time to have a conversation about Arteta. He’s been brilliant but he’s not delivering silverware. Few managers have been backed like him and if he doesn’t win this season it’s time to move on.
