And yeah, the series has burned bridges with a lot of the bigger places in the US over politics, calendar slots, etc. Hence why it's now trying to force it with places like Arlington (When Texas' oval is 30 minutes away)

Yeah, that's a factor, the majority of the R/S tracks are sub-70 seconds and passing is at a premium. Barber's been decent, Road America has generally been good (No shock, it's bigger with more genuine chances), but it's no shock the series has had to change tyre rules to try and force something.

Oh that's cool as hell, do more shit like that!

Only just saw Pato's comments on the state of F1 and a part of me is like, man: you're so lucky your series has ovals because they're carrying the series for entertainment right now imo. (Nearly 2 years of supercapacitor hybrids and I don't think it's made anything "better" over there)

Vampire Crawlers is out tomorrow and I fear I'm going to plunge another 200 hours into yet another Roguelike, as if Balatro and Warriors: Abyss didn't consume me already.

Dre's Race Review: IndyCar's 2026 Grand Prix of Long Beach | Motorsport101 Alex Palou is pushed hard by Felix Rosenqvist's finest IndyCar performance, but once again, the #10 crew finds a way to win. Dre Reviews IndyCar's return to the beach.

Felix Rosenqvist's best #IndyCar weekend STILL wasn't enough to topple Alex Palou, who has now won 50% of the series' races since the start of 2025.

Here me review another gut punch by the Spanish ace, a Quali format review, and thoughts on today's P2P news. www.motorsport101.com/dres-race-re...

I don't really care if it has less power than an Formula E car as long as it produces better racing tbh. :/

That's how I interpret it, yes.

Ahem, technobabble aside - I think genuinely, those are sensible, reasonable changes. Chisel, not a baseball bat as Toto Wolff said.

Reasonably optimistic it'll reduce a lot of the complaints, some valid, many aesthetic.

The problem? I think we're going to drift back towards 2025 racing.

- Max power boost in races capped at 150kW, Max MGU-K deployment at 350kW in overtake zones, 250 elsewhere to reduce closing speeds
- Visual warning system introduced to alert drivers on harvesting
- Automatic MGU-K deployment so we get minimum accleration off the line in starts. #F1

#F1's changes in:
- Maximum Recharge reduced from 8MJ to 7 (About 3 seconds less Superclipping)
- Peak Superclip power increased to 350kW from 250
- Alternative lower energy limits races increased from 8 to 12

So Jacob Abel confirmed for the 500 under his own team, so with maybe one more coming from Foyt I think we'll be at exactly 33. So full grid, but no Bump Day? #IndyCar

Nah. F2's between 10-15 seconds a lap slower depending on track, and Formula E's still reluctant to use full Grand Prix tracks right now.

Adding a couple of seconds a lap will be fine if it kills off the superclipping look on main TV.

Maverick Vinales out of Spanish GP, targeting a Le Mans comeback. No replacement because Pol Espagraro's done his hand in. Welp. #MotoGP

Not sure on today's rules meeting in F1. But if I had to guess, I think the regen limit is coming down hard. Maybe 5-6 MJ per lap instead of 7-9 so cars don't need to clip with their 4MJ batteries at all.

Still not sure how you fix the closing speed problem unless you have "no-regen" zones.

A statement from the series itself saying that a push to pass software failure led to a post-race review.

A statement from the series itself saying that a push to pass software failure led to a post-race review.

So… turns out IndyCar had another push to pass failure last night and 12 cars used it on the final restart when they weren’t supposed to. Only Ferrucci and Armstrong named, but as the series took responsibility, no punishments given.

Welp. #IndyCar

Yeah, operationally combined with Herta's minor errors, they could have won the 2024 title if not for those mistakes. Operationally, they're still the bronze medalists in the field. McLaren's stepped up, Penske have superior talents, and Palou's a freak with a great setup crew behind him.

Partly true, also Kirkwood's not qualifying as well as Palou is and giving himself more work to do. This dude is too goddamn good to have holes in your game, he WILL punish you.

Tell you what, best I've seen Felix Rosenqvist in #IndyCar, ironically since he was in the #10 car and winning at Road America.

Your final test, the smiling demon behind you.
