Quite often they’ve got wise to this and the references are genuine, but generally *really* old and only just relevant. Or very random, generalised views. *Technically* a tenuous link, but hard to prove to an AIO from another department. Totally agree on the tedium of combing though refs, too.

And then you have to ‘mark’ it in a way that indicates you’ve taken it seriously because that’s your job - and proving AI use is almost impossible. Even if you can find some form of evidence, it’s assessed by someone in a different field who doesn‘t understand the nuances. So it gets thrown out.
I am also my workplace’s AI Cassandra and it’s exhausting.
Swarbrick just let him ramble on, spouting MAGA crap, without challenge - utterly pointless ‘interview’.

Good luck with that one. I haven’t forgotten. Happy birthday!
Wow!!
Well, hello!
Ah yes. One of those really useful editing notes you left yourself the previous week which suddenly seems daunting and unachievable on a Monday morning.
Congratulations to every single person who has added at least one word to their manuscript today (or deleted at least one poor choice and raised both fists to the heavens in triumph).
Really good thread for anyone writing alongside a day job (as I am).
Thank you! Everyone I needed … I do like this place.
Followed back!
New here - refugee from Twitter where I was @AbbieHeath9. Following anyone talking about politics, books, screenwriting, film & TV, theatre and comedy. It already feels like a much, much better place to be. Phew.
