2026 Annual Meeting of the Society for Social Neuroscience (S4SN 2026) will take place in Montréal, Canada, August 23–26, 2026. 🧠

Two awards will be given:

1️⃣ for human research
1️⃣ for non-human animal research

Bonus for providing information on your open science practices (e.g. data, code, and resource sharing, preprinting manuscripts).

✨ EARLY CAREER AWARD nominations are open! ✨

This award recognizes the formation of new approaches or paradigms within the field of social neuroscience, and/or the development or advancement of research that cuts across multiple fields of neuroscience to understand social cognition & behavior. 🏆

Together with the European Social Club, the Society for Social Neuroscience is organizing a "Social brain networking event" during FENS forum fensforum.org, in Barcelona, Spain. It will be held at La Fuga, Consell de Cent 350, on the 7th of July from 7 pm.

Finally, we are very excited for our incoming President, @honglab.bsky.social, who will lead the Society in 2026.

Steve will be transitioning into the Past-President role and looks forward to working closely with him.

We were honored to host two world-renowned scientists, Catherine Dulac and Matthew Rushworth, as our Keynote Speakers.

We also presented Early Career Awards to two exceptionally promising investigators, Vikram Gadagkar and Caroline Parkinson.

Thanks to Liz Hammock and Zoe Donaldson for organizing an excellent symposium dedicated to the memory of Larry Young, a co-founder and past President of this Society. This year’s meeting was, in fact, dedicated to our colleague, mentor, and friend, Larry.

Huge thanks go to the Program Committee, chaired by Zoe Donaldson, and Rui Oliveira, who served as the local committee chair and hosted the meeting in Lisbon. I also thank key local organizing members, Niccolo Bonacchi and Helena Matos-Aguas, who coordinated closely with our local partners.
