Adventure Kid, GTA IV? Sad Dad. Doom is Adventure Kid, Quake is Sad Dad, but Quake 2 is Adventure Kid

There are two types of videogame plots - Adventure Kid, and Sad Dad. Zelda is Adventure Kid, Last of Us is Sad Dad. Uncharted, despite being a first-party third-person PS game, is thoroughly Adventure Kid. Mother 3, despite being a GBA JRPG is quintessential Sad Dad.

That's my big problem with FF3, it gives you this cool fun robust class system then enforces super-specific party comps for plot dungeons and bosses. 5 does what it's trying to do much better overall

I've just found out about this game and I'm stunned by its sheer hubris. Hoigle and Moigle Floigan are the most vaudeville-ass characters and it has the emotional-manipulation-based gameplay of Pac-Man 2, but they intended this to do Mario numbers.
