Hearthborne and Frostborne seem to be two of what I wished for — still surprised these aren’t in the base game, though! www.daggerheart.com/wp-content/u...
Like, Fafhrd would be Frostborne, Frodo and Taran would probably be Hearthborne. These seem genre-common.

Marvel Super Heroes! FASERIP FTW!
I like Daggerheart’s Communities rules — they mirror the “you are the land you live on” view some Indigenous folks have.
But the lack of Farmborne, Tundraborne (think Vikings, Inuit) or Townborne seems like a big gap.
I’m digging the trad/indie love child vibes.
When you make a Bard in Daggerheart, one of the questions you can ask the other players is, “Why do you grab my hand at night?”
That’s just begging for a, “To wake you up when you’re peeing the bed.”
I initially avoided it because I thought, “Eh, generic heroic fantasy driven by Critical Roll’s brand success.” But now I’m interested is seeing how this trad/indie love child works.
Which implies either:
1. How you buff your rolls is critically important (like in Forged in the Dark or Fate), or
2. The system is built around the assumption of middling results (like Forged in the Dark or Powered by the Apocalypse)
Like you roll 2d12 and add the results for most things. That is VERY different than 1d20 because it’s a bell curve instead of a flat probability distribution.
I’m getting sold on Daggerheart the more of it I read. It really seems to be trying to marry the D&D and narrative indie game styles.
Something is wrong when the proposed US ambassador to Canada saying "Canada is a sovereign state" is front-page news.
I disagree with all Ford’s policies but he’s got his elbows up like almost all our leaders across party lines right now.
His specific approach is… well, I’ll just say it can be nice to have the one friend who’ll offer to slash someone’s tires.
I think his new nickname should be "No Deal Donald": www.cbc.ca/news/politic...
He's demonstrating again that he'll never negotiate in good faith and there's no point trying to appease him.

I had no idea the FR was ever not the generic bland wedding chicken of fantasy settings. Thank you for sharing this!
This system is *built* for shenanigans and my table loves it for that.
One of my players decided to do a Sway attack against the crowd with "Play to the Crowd", to get NPCs to join the final battle, and a little old lady ended up being *clutch* hitting the final boss over the head with a vase.
I feel like some of these could *suggest* "thirst trap" but that's up to the table's interpretation. This art's technically a miner, but he's been compared to a dwarf romance cover: scryfall.com/card/mir/169...
Mini game design epiphany: to make my game using Forged in the Dark work, I should have factions made up of bad people with good ideas, and ones made up of good people with bad ideas. Then the players are conflicted about who to work with.
We're going to hit a point where you can't be a politician unless there are drunk pics of you online. No drunk pics means you're too suspiciously clean.
