Finished the read of draft 3 of a book I wrote last year and then let rest. I'm missing an ending due to my old laptop dying. Even without an ending, it's 118k - the most overwritten book I've come up with in pushing 30 years. Now to work out if there's anything worth saving here.

My boss and an immediate colleague have both been signed off for the rest of the week. Another colleague on long term sick. I'm off tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday because my wife is having an op. That leaves two people in our team.

Complaints incoming.

Anyone I know here (or don't know for that matter) had any contact with Crystal Baynam of Baynam Books since the publisher closed? I'd quite like it if she replied to my emails & sent - as promised by the end of March - my royalties. My book was published last summer and I'm yet to have anything.

Just watched The Mist again. Is that the most Stephen King esque ending that he didn't write? Brutal.

I've been tired for most of this century. It's been a massive disappointment.

Anyone else tired? Just fucking tired?

On March 19th Hachette Book Group made headlines for terminating a book contract with author Mia Ballard over her alleged use of AI in her novel Shy Girl; meanwhile, Hachette has negotiated with the AI editing software company Alighieria to integrate full-scope AI editorial correction tools into their production process.

Friends, my son asks for help
He’s serving in a rear unit
They are often overlooked
Right now their headquarters needs a few basic laptops and a charging station
We found affordable options: $370–460 per laptop
$600 for the station
Any help really matters
DM me if you can help🙏❤️
(My sister sent $60)

Wife needs to have her gallbladder removed.

I might ask if I can have it when they're done.

Why have I apparently got 30+ notifications and then there's nothing in there?

I sometimes wonder how we got to a point where this needs to be said. And then I recall my time on Threads.

2 rejections so far. At least they're coming in fast. Still waiting for a reply to one I subbed in 2023. I'm currently around number 200 in their list.

Yep. Ditto normalising one bed flats being out of reach to the point the best option is a room in a shared house. A room. Not even a place of your own.
