I’m designing a proxy api wrapper in AWS, curious if I should use sqs for each request, but I just make it a direct apig > lambda > api > response
I feel like sqs is not needed cause its not a messaging service just adding more control over a third party saas service

Its happening. I’m on code reviews from non-devs who vibe code thats being reviewed by AI then fixed by AI, then demanding my eyeballs…and the code is a mess with issues. To review the 1k+ lines fully, I have to stop building.
I need to put the breaks on this…AI is great till it wastes my time.
You know, my team almost hired the same artist doing Brandon Sanderson’s book covers to do a team logo, but nooo
Love remult!
Question is what kind of book??
Not used bevy beyond tutorials (for now), but keeping an eye on these updates, love watching this project grow! So much work
I have to keep an eye on how close a restroom is at all times. Holding our 5 month baby and his smiles hold back the darkness. Listening to my 4y old’s imagination inspires me. How much pure joy kids have.
I’m almost done with a series of double doses on new meds + steroids. next month should start seeing results I hope. I drink no alcohol. I’m having to avoid caffein/coffee. I can’t eat red meats. I’m trying to limit dairy. I’ve lost 45lbs since 2025. I feel amazing, but in a few hours can be so weak
Getting up at 5am to swim a mile I thought would be really hard. Getting up early became easy. Getting to the gym is fine. I love starting my day with a win.
Being in the worst flair up with ulcer colitis for last 4+ months is the challenge. I can’t workout everyday. The energy drain is depressing
Getting ready for work, walk by son’s room.
“Daaad. I keep trying to make the sun come up but its not working. I can’t sleep forever“ - 4y old who wants to be in our bed, but has to wait for the sun.
I’m fortunate to have gone electric and get to use free charging at work too (pay $ to park tho). Still go’n be affected when prices increase on everything 😮💨
Working for Amazon, my best advice is if you don’t define your boundaries, they will be defined for you.
I block out my time for lunch and my mornings till I start work. Its saved me SO many pointless 7am meetings that could be a slack message.
Non technical management vs technical management
I’m pausing my side projects cause stay at home wife needs a break and baby hates my phone and laptop lol. My only challenge is holding baby + how do I entertain our 4y old son + deal with my ulcer colitis
When our first born son, I took 6 weeks off and went back to work. The team I was on then was a 7am-7pm kind of stress. On call was sev2 pages that woke us up for non-issues. Now with 2nd son and better WL balance, I just want to hold him when back at home. Cause I know I wont get that time back
I enjoy the process of research > decide > build but once I’m in the zone writing cdk infra, I think often this should be better
Feels like infra as code is annoying due to end-to-end loop experience. Lot of gotchas and footguns. I need to learn more alternatives.
I respect Anthropic a lot more with their stance on AI. AI companies need money and they at least for now proved they stand by their morals
Using Azure the “Amazon way” = everything is scrutinized, security is very tight and Azure is rough. Like “This feature will be deprecated in 2024” M$ still says use it 🤣
Steamdeck dropped, screen cracked. Totally forgot I didn’t have a protector like I do on my other devices. Nooooo
I refuse to update my laptops, apple goofed this up
A skill I have developed that another team’s manager pointed out to me last week - I’m pretty good at shipping projects mostly cause I’m good working with security. Its 80% of the work to ship these days, AI has yet to speed that up. They need to stop laying off security folks honestly.
my python skills are pretty basic, I do a lambda or script here and there. I can get past the many ways to setup dev environment. I’m just not a python language nerd, though it was my first real useful language. AI does make this not a big issue, I can be a generalist.
I wished youtube just let me turn it off. I think only a legal requirement to provide controls to short term videos or the threat of regulations will make these companies change. Its too addictive.
First time doing first dose of new meds -pen shots, one in each leg. I couldn’t make myself do the first one, wife was happy to help stab me. She was hoping I would wus out on 2nd shot so she’d get my other leg.
I should get her something nice for valentines day…
I bought into some of the hype on drizzle way back but when I used it, I found I liked writing raw SQL more. Probably was just due to small personal project vs a team owned thing
This is the first project I spent money on for AI for personal use tbh
Seahawks have the best colors, they had to win
opencode is really nice, I’m kinda late to the party at this point
First week back at work after paternity leave. Ready to build stuff!
I want my lambdas to be rust, tired of python/node
The BEST pharmacy experience I get is actually Amazon Pharmacy. Not to sound bias, but its been the best. I hope they expand to do specialty meds.
45 min call yesterday. Meds come today. No meds today. Check status - order blocked again. Call again. Okay we’re good for Tuesday now. They call me back and we do the dance all over again cause they blocked it. Again.
I hate healthcare in America, I want to fire this incompetent scammy company.
