RIP Linkity Link 🪦
Posts by Brad Barrish
I wanted this to be separate from my blog, though I can't remember why other than liking the URL and wanting to use it for something. Anyway, I need to write things up in more detail, but it's less than 400 lines of code, all client-side using HTML, CSS, JS, the Raindrop API, GitHub and Netlify.
I did a little weekend project with Claude Code called Linkity Link - linkitylink.lol. I love the plain text web and especially sites like clone.fyi and brutalist.report. I've always wanted to create an easy, semi-automated way to publish links I'm already collecting on the public web.

Thanks, I’ll stick with my golden-age technology.
Agree! Your post on running your link blog was especially great. Impossible to quantify how much I have learned from just reading your posts over the years. Thank you for putting so much effort into it all.
Here are my music selections from 2024. As usual, it is intended to be enjoyed in its sequenced order at least once. Hope you find something to love that you haven’t heard before. Spotify and Apple Music links below.

Such a crazy sight. Here’s a photo I snapped on my home from DTLA this evening.
Gary is doing a 24 hour streaming event next month for Eno. Get a ticket if you haven't seen it.

I continue to root for The Browser Company. They seem to be one of the only companies that are really swinging for the fences when it comes to thinking about the evolution of the web browser. Dia looks cool.

The number of people that don’t realize their Venmo transactions are public keeps blowing my mind year after year.
It’s a powerful but tough read if you have half a heart, but Patrick Fealey’s first-hand account of homelessness is essential reading.

It is tradition to listen to William S. Burroughs recite his Thanksgiving prayer. youtu.be/sLSveRGmpIE?...
Can’t win em all, can we?
If you have yet to experience Gary Hustwit's Eno documentary, I cannot recommend it more highly. The screening you see will never be seen again by anyone else. GO! You will not regret it.

I hope to see a lot more friends using Signal.
Such a great read! I regret we didn’t get to meet in Portland at XOXO.
I'm so so sorry for your loss – for OUR loss. He was truly a beautiful human and treasure to so many. My heart goes out to you.
Keep up the great work.

My friend keeps sending AI generated images of wizards doing groceries and it’s honestly probably the only good use of AI
Great to see Yup live in the App Store. Been playing with the beta for a while. Congrats on the launch!

Going to Paris soon. Give me your favorite things to do and places to eat. As a thank you, I’ll send you a compiled list of recommendations I’m getting from others.
