Got it. I was just hoping to use Colgate’s intense alumni network pride to raise more money!!

With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
1 yr ago I wrote a massive thread on @iea.org huge AI / energy report.
WELL it's one year later and they've released an update, but notably, there is no chatbot. Well....I'm going to read it anyway, and you're all going to get spammed with notes :)
that's means a NEW ULTRATHREAD 🧵
Say e-bikes are “cheating” :)
It was sooooo lovely! Would love to catch up one day soon!!!
View of a beautiful sunset with mountains in the distance, with a lone bird flapping it wings in silhouette and ocean in the foreground. Taken from a ferry in Greece on our way back to Athens.
Just came back from 10 days in Greece, where stunning views were all around and everyone was soooo kind to my kids (even the immigration folks were super sweet to them while checking their passports). Reminded me of how many great things there still are in the world. Things worth fighting to protect
View from top of mountain in Methana in Greece. People enjoying the view in the foreground, mountains, lush greenery and the ocean they are all looking at and enjoying
So I feel reenergized for the fights and the love needed to move us all forward to a better future. I hope you can do the same in small or big ways. Having a friend over for dinner or a grand adventure. Love to you all.
View from top of Greek island of Poros, with terracotta roofs in the foreground, ocean with sailboats parked and m Peloponnese mountains in the background on a beautiful sunny day.
Things are bad in many ways, but they have been bad before. People can band together and fight for a better future and find joy in the now as well. This was a great filling up of joy for me. And sharing the adventure with my kids and husband made it even more joy filling.

How so? To me, weird it is even close given all the warning signals from the economy and risk for energy and other products with high amount fossil-based inputs.
💯
A trade or actual war with China would not prevent India from using their previously purchased infrastructure like high voltage transmission wires unless there is some underlying software that China could use to shut it down (which seems easy to avoid).
But, those are not nearly the same sort of dependencies as regular, forever ongoing need for shipments of fossil fuels.
“India must not look toward escaping from one dependency only to walk into another,” warned Mr. Kant, the former think tank leader.” They are talking about the batteries, high transmission lines, etc needed to upgrade infrastructure to efficiently and least expensive shift to cleaner grid and energy
“Like many other countries, India is in a bind. While it wants to reduce its reliance on Middle Eastern oil, there is growing unease that overreliance on China could undermine economic and national security…
Correct me if I am wrong, the the closing lines act as though the ongoing dependence on fossil fuels is the same as near term dependence on China for the infrastructure to shift towards clean energy.

Trump Treasury chief brushes off climate risk that's already causing huge trouble in the insurance industry, which could in turn just be a canary in the coalmine for ever worse developements.
The politics of data centers has been largely at the local level. Now, it's rising to the level of state governors. I talked with @jael.bsky.social of @heatmap.news on what states are starting to do: heatmap.news/plus/the-fig...
Jobs picture is far from grand when you include the very large downward revision for Feb job numbers.
“Driving is so hard-wired into American culture, life and institutions, that it’s hard to account for all the ways it is subsidized, preferenced or otherwise favored. But a law professor at the University of Iowa, attempted it anyway.”

While consumers quickly feel the pinch filling up their own gas tanks, much of the impact in other goods and services can take longer to hit them.
Alex, could not agree more about the existential fight for direct democracy. Plus, I just want government to do what they say they are going to do.
I was quoted in this story (in a personal capacity) in the aftermath of the revelation that an unelected cabal secretly met to spike the Atlanta Streetcar East Extension.
To me, this is not a debate, but an existential fight for direct democracy in the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement:
We can remember at least one time when the United States did take care of daycare; it was during a time of war. 🤔 #FDR

Duhhh. Not sure why anyone had believed Trump’s earlier vague promises the war was basically over, despite all signs that it was not & Iran now fully embedding its power over the strait of Hormuz. Stock futures sell-off picks up steam, Dow drops 700 points as oil surges www.cnbc.com/2026/04/01/s...
