Remember, Democrats have repeatedly advanced measures to ban partisan gerrymandering and Republicans have voted against them time after time.
This is the game Republicans wanted to play. OK, then.
It’s a great time to snuggle under a weighted blanket with the dog and watch the rain fall.
The next administration must make clear that any immigrant, refugee, or asylum seeker wrongly deported, exiled, or otherwise mistreated by this administration will be readmitted with an expedited path to citizenship. Send a plane to get them.
We can't undo the damage. But we can do something.
When asking yourself how much to make: imagine if everyone you invited brings an unannounced guest. And all of them want to eat just one thing.
Make enough of all things such that you’re safe if that happens.
Then live on leftovers for a week or two.
WELL NOW, would you look at that?
A massive, 26-YEAR-LONG study of MORE THAN 2.4 MILLION people in Sweden found NO EVIDENCE to support a causal link between acetaminophen (the API in Tylenol) use during pregnancy and increased risk of autism, ADHD, OR intellectual disability in children.
it’s so funny that the drunk tv host in charge of the military is like “real warriors don’t need vaccines” when all the greatest generals in history would have done anything for a jab that kept their armies safe from disease

A couple tablespoons of roasted beef better than bouillon in 2 cups hot water, plus liquid from seasoned beef and vegetables as it roasted under foil.
I suggested allowing them to “sneak out” on rainy days so they get the impression that it’s always wet and nasty outside.
The intesity of opinions politicians/pundits have about what should be taught in college is inversely correlated with their knowledge of what is currently taught in college.
A 🧵about the history and context of the 68 average IQ score attributed to Somalis. TL;DR: It's racist BS from unreliable data but has been cited by academics and long-appeared on a prominent, commonly-used website. 1/
If they’re looking for Catholic-ish with a more left leaning on LGBTQ+, they need to go investigate Episcopalians.
Pretty good take from GOP pollster Patrick Ruffini about the fundamental limitations of LLMs in polling.
"The crux of why is this: polling exists to tell us what we don’t already know about what the public thinks. LLMs are by definition a synthesis of all the things we already know"

Forgot to post the outcome! Sunday Dinner was served! Roast came out moist and tender.
The average person doesn’t give a fuck if AI has some niche use where it actually excels if used properly. In fact, that is what a tool is *supposed* to do and none of us will have a problem if it is used like that. What we see is AI fucking up real life in a massive way.
Weather’s nice – last gasp of spring before the oppressive heat and humidity of summer hits.
I’m burping my house.
“Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial. Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later.”
This is why we should fund science. 🧪
Grading, grading, end of semester grading blahs.
Found one plagiarist/AI case, so it will be interesting to see how my new college handles this sort of thing.
Look, for my money the absolute game changer technologies right now are batteries and biosciences, not statistically modeling a mid conversation, but you do you.
A grid photo of 16 different characters all played by the legend Tim Curry.
Tim Curry, the absolute legend, turns 80 today. This man took huge swings.
Ageing: the condition of becoming less serious about all you were once far too serious about and more serious about all that you once undervalued.
The original HEB roast didn’t include them, but the produce section has fresh black eyed peas so I just threw them in the roasting pan. I try to put them in the bottom of the pan, and they cook in the pan juices.
Prepared roast in pan
I couldn’t find a big-enough roast in the pre-portioned section, so I asked the HEB butcher if he could cut me one. Turns out, I could get a Prime roast cut for me at $1 less per pound than the pre-portioned Choice roast that was already out in the meat section!
Ingredients include chuck roast, black eyed peas, baby yellow potatoes, baby carrots, and baby corn, onion, garlic, onion powder, roast beef bullion, and smoked seasoning mix.
Prepping for Sunday Dinner with a chuck roast. My local HEB has one in their prepared meals area that you just toss into the oven to cook and it’s unfortunately delicious, so I wanted to try to replicate it so I could stop buying theirs!
I don’t see them often enough outside of Canada. Last I saw one that wasn’t one I made was on a cruise that stopped at Prince Rupert Island.
